The Marosan's JYC Experience

We were to meet my brother on Thursday, but we had a change of plans as we needed to renew the car's registration first. So, we decided to have breakfast in a place with no traffic, or we would spend most of our time getting stuck on the road. We had had enough of it the previous day.

The hubby thought of Marosan's, somewhere along Longlong Road, connecting the city and the provincial capital. We left the hotel just before 8:00 am and headed to JYC.

The place can be busy around lunch and dinner time, as it is one of the favorites among the locals, one for its spacious parking areas, affordable meals, plenty tables (two whole floors, if I'm not mistaken), light traffic along its road, and perhaps the good ambience too, as it is nestled a bit up in the mountainous area.

A thick, dense forest can be seen on its east side and at the back. It was a bit drizzly that morning, so we didn't go out to its expansive balconies to view the vicinity, nor climb to the new attraction called Johnny's Giant Hand (a view deck at the top of the building).

This is just a partial glimpse of the untouched woods from our table.

It was still early, so only a few tables were occupied. That allowed me to freely take a snap of the reflections on the floor while the servers were busy with their morning chit-chat by the counter.

The attendant came right after we took a table. The hubby took a while to decide on what to have. I didn't take so much time to think about what to order as I wasn't particularly picky that morning. I chose fried rice with Lechon and Shanghai, imagining juicy, tasty meat on my plate.

Instead, it came like this.

Quite a disappointment. They should change the name on their menu to Fried Rice with Lechon Kawali (deep-fried pork). Thankfully, the rice was quite tasty. I expected some veggies too, but saw none on our plates. We should have asked, haha! Despite that, we were thankful that we got our fill on time that morning.

Will there be a next time?

Yes. I like to climb Johnny's Hand, lol! Although there are many other cafes and restaurants in that area, which we could try and experience too.

Anyhow, we exited the restaurant, and Yongi suddenly growled as we were hopping into the car. It turned out, he saw the lions (statues) and he might have thought they were real, lol!

From there, we headed down toward the La Trinidad Valley for our errands. The sky was clearing up and Mr. Sun was peeking through already, as we traversed the Pico-Lamtang Road.

A glimpse of the valley quickly snapped while on a speeding vehicle. I even missed Yongi's head, lol!

We had a long day, but we accomplished most of our to-dos. We even had a wee shopping rendezvous at a boutique, met with my brother in the afternoon, and had dinner together in the evening. Body and soul are happy. Success!

Your breakfast adventure was such a vibe, even if the “Lechon” was a bit of a letdown (menus really need honesty checks, lol). Loved the chill forest views and the empty café floor pic, feels peaceful. Johnny’s Giant Hand sounds fun, you definitely need to climb it next time!
