HAIR, LOVE AND CELEBRATION

When wealth is lost, nothing is lost; when health is lost, something is lost; when character is lost, all is lost. - Billy Graham

While I was sick for over two weeks, I was so inactive to the extent that I couldn’t even do some simple tasks myself and I was really so blessed and lucky to have people who were around to assist. I was particularly grateful to my sister @merit.ahama who even travelled over to my school to make sure I was well assisted. We both made plans of her coming over prior to then but it wasn’t for her to come and care for me as a patient but for her to just come and we could spend some time together since it’s been a while we saw each other and also since I wanted her to know where I live in my school environment. But life has its way of doing things.

Well, during those weeks, I was so weak and almost helpless at some point because it felt like my medications were not working but I guess the malaria had really eaten deep. Well, I finally recovered after about two weeks and my sister who had planned to stay for just a week or even less had to stay for two weeks and some days and that made her to celebrate her birthday here with me. I was happy she did actually because I had friends that I know would not disappoint coming over to make her feel happy.

The first thing I did when I recovered was to make her look good because that’s part of the gifts I have been blessed with. It’s just sad that I don’t really enjoy putting effort into making myself look good, lol. Well, we agreed to make a simple hairstyle since I wasn’t fully recovered yet and also we don’t really have enough time before her birthday. I spent about 4 hours making this hair and I felt it in my bones that I was tired but it was just one of the little things I could do for my sister to say thank you. And besides, I had already promised her I’ll make her hair when she visits.

The hair came out really nice and I was happy that I didn’t lose my touch even after that terrible sickness. Of course my sister loved her hair, hehe.

After we finished making her hair that evening, we went out to get some food stuffs since we planned to prepare something nice on her birthday. The plan was to prepare fried rice and I was really happy that we were able to achieve our goals. I was surprised I could enter the kitchen to cook because due to the malaria, I had a very sensitive nose and I could easily get irritated but I guess I was happy about eating fried rice and meat. It took me quite a while to prepare everything but the result was really encouraging.

Everyone that came over enjoyed their time and they made my sister really happy. I’m sure she will definitely want to come visit next time if she gets the opportunity to.

I’m just happy that I recovered before her birthday and I was able to make her beautiful and also be her cook for the day!

Thank you for reading through. ❤️

Are you the one on the first photo? Cause girl you are such a cutie.
I'm guessing your sister is the one with the new braids since you mentioned helping her with her hair when you recovered from your sickness just a little bit.
Meanwhile you as re so blessed to have such a loving and caring sister like that, travelling miles to be with you in your school environment and take care of you till you got better.
I cherish so such bonds between sisters, and I absolutely envy those that do experience that, in a good way though.
I hope you have fully recovered and you are waxing strong again to continue your daily activities.
I am doing my best to connect with people again after my first few attempts failed some months ago, so I hope you wouldn't mind a new distraction from my ends to your corner lol.

Yes, that’s me, hehe. Thank you so much for the compliment, Shadows.

My sister and I are really close and most times when I randomly think of the kind of bond we have, I’m just grateful.

One way to build connection with people is showing up as much as you can. I’m sure you will make really great connections soon.
