Cloudy Weather and Some Drizzle

It's something you could consider out of place to happen in the month of March; not totally out of place, but it's much of a rare scenario or situation to come across here. This post was intended for yesterday but somehow for some reasons it couldn't be delivered. Yesterday was the 30th day of March; a good Sunday, coupled with the Mothering Sunday and Eid Mubarak celebration of the muslim faithfuls. As if that wasn't enough weight for a day to carry, it was blessed with the first rain drops of the year. Well, I'll consider it a drizzle though.

In my part of the world, this period is one we consider as a heat season. Anything rain or the cloudy weather is certainly not a thing now. Especially the part of the country I reside. Some few parts could experience it but not mine at least. However, it would surprise us—maybe me especially—when we experienced the first rain drops of the year. And I'll say it was a really good moment. It's something almost everyone here would want, in order to ease the hot weather currently heating people up. Haha!

It was a good Sunday, and as usual I did well to prepare and go to Church. After the Church service which began by 8AM, I was home and ready to face my day. There was a friend I had to go see, so that was part of my plan for the day. Later about 2PM I'll say, I feel asleep. While lost in the dream world, I was recalled to reality by some sort of sound. Yes, it was rain falling—or some drizzle rather. I was amazed by this, though the sleep was still heavy in my eyes. I could remember a neighbour telling me the previous night that as the new month approaches, one thing I should expect was a rainfall soon. I recalled this later on.

After dragging myself back to reality, I got ready to step out and pay that friend of mine the visit intended to. I stepped out, noticing the little effect of the drizzle on the earth and in the atmosphere. The hot air became mild, blowing cold and chilled air. The feeling was refreshing. Not to forget the drizzle effect on the earth. I could see the "rain line" formed on the ground from the rain that dropped from the roof in my compound.

As I walked through my area to reach my destination, I could also see the droplets mark on the soft earth. There were like some sort of art work on the earth surface. Most of all, that nice smell was once again in the air; that smell that fills the air when the waters in the cloud come in contact with the earth soil. Perceiving that after a long time was really appealing. Especially now that it was the first rain drops of the year.

While I made my way, I couldn't help but notice the cloudy weather. It was all a sunny day—yeah Sund-day, haha—and now it's all turned cloudy. The cloudy weather though was kind of interesting to me. At this point it was around 4:30PM, the weather shouldn't be this dark were it not for the drizzle.


Reaching where I would take the vehicle to my destination, I hopped in the first available one. After some minutes ride, I arrived there. While on the way I could see the muslim faithfuls engaged in the sallah celebration. Many paraded the streets and the roadsides in happy celebration.

It was a good and wonderful day. I was glad to see my friend who I haven't for a long time, and even while there I came across another too. The drizzle made the day much more of a calm and settling one. It was just the nice atmosphere to be with some good friends.
