Being on the winning side of history sure feels good

Life in camp as a corper is no easy feat at all and that's excluding the sacrifice/effort channeled into academics to get to this very destination. The first stage to all this is starting off as a Potential Corps Member (PCM), waking up very early every morning for three days straight before the Swearing In ceremony which signifies that every person in camp is now off officially a full fledged Corper designated to serve this country for 12 straight months but before that members of this prestigious title srd to stay isolated in various camps for three weeks. I am currently on my second week and in 8 days time I'll be living to face my future..

Today in camp, we kicked things with our usual routine, waking up by 4 am and setting out to the parade grounds by 4:40 am for briefings, announcements and information crucial to everyone in camp. This went on till past 8 when we were all released to go get our breakfast to return back to our skill acquisition classes after an hour of break. This very class lasted for a little over three hours and since the brain needs rest after a long day's work, our supervisors have us all the very thing they knew we all needed - Another break🤣🤣
After the afternoon break,I didn't have much to do and I was subconsciously craving some sort of entertainment. I decided to go sit close to the kitchen but on my way there, I heard news that the female members of our team were having a volleyball match and thus I decided to go watch that instead. On my way to the volleyball court, I bumped into a familiar face and she told me that the girls had gone to the clinic first for medical evaluation before the match kicked off. Being the supportive team player I was, I went with them to check their health status and after 43 minutes were all back at the court to commence the competition.

Now I am not a fan of volleyball and knew nothing about its rules or how the game is even played but I was determined nevertheless to give my in wavering support regardless of the game's outcome. According to the sports director, this game was actually the quarter final and two more wins would propel our girls to the final and hopefully they'd come out as winners..... Our desired results.

The quarter final between platoon 6 and 10 started immediately after the players shuck their hands as a sign of good sportsmanship. Due to the limited time on ground and delay from the management the game only had three rounds and whichever team won two out of the three was definitely heading to the next level.
I wasn't expecting this level of dominance from my team as they looked way smaller than their opponents and really underperformed in the first round losing 18-25. However in the next rounds, the girls went full-on berserk mood absolutely annihilating team 10.

Girls I looked at as weaklings were running all over the court giving the other team a run for their money. Even when they were tired they were burning the extra full to cover up for the silly mistakes they made in the first round. Team 6 girls gave it their all and eventually came out as the victors heading straight to the semi finals after winning the last remaining two rounds.

While the whole match was ongoing, I got busy taking pictures, enjoying the female intensity in sports I barely get to see often and having a good time in general. I was happy for the entertainment and glad my team won. I used to think camp was just a stressful place with nothing to look back to but honestly with the experiences I have had so far, I am definitely going to miss this place when I finally leave in a few days time.
Thank you all for stopping by, I really did enjoy my day... I want this level of excitement more times than not...
Stay flexy guys.

Though the NYSC orientation camp from the begining is not interesting to some certain extent but along the way you get to enjoy every other activities scheduled for you guys in the camp like volleyball and football competitions, the drill competition and even the carnival day competition.
I believe you will enjoy yourself definitely 😁😁 @coderaikiri
