Cyber-security heads up.
Good day everyone at Daily blog community, welcome to my space.
I once had an online Fraudulent experience sometime ago, i almost became a victim. its of importance I brief you'll about it.
Having some certain level of knowledge on Cybersecurity will be of great help at least to prevent situations like online fraudulent techniques and for creating an essential safety tips.
What do we understand when we hear of Cyber security? Its like a protective wall or barrier in our system that serves as protection on personal details and private network programs from outsiders without authorization to steal or acquire information that's private.
Having the knowledge of Cyber security is very vital especially in today's world where everything is made digital and modernization has taken over. As the rate of electronic devices increases so as the scammers or fraudster rate increases too.
I ordered some electronic devices like the blender and pressing iron for cloths on a website that claim to be authentic, I had ask around there said its okay to place orders from them, I didn't really made deep research or thorough verification, on the process of placing the order online a page opened where I had to put my ATM card details for am automatic withdrawal for the devices I have picked, i have input my details not until the very last three digit code something struck me to pause and recheck the website account details, lo and behold it has a private account carry someones name and not the name of the company, and again what made me stop completely was when i noticed a deactivation of * "pay on delivery option"* with the little knowledge I have bout cyber security I never inputted my last three card pin code.
There should be an option for pay on delivery I guess as far its not involving cross country shipping of items.
If any online website companies selling electronic items of devices don't have a PHYSICAL structure as a headquarter or branch where complaint can be lodged if anything goes south, I guess its not fully authentic.
Immediately I stopped the transaction process, I started receiving calls from a particular number stating that I should complete transaction or send the details so they could help complete it for me.
As if I was that dumb, see why literacy is very important also. If it was an illiterate maybe every of the private details would have been sent to an unknown vendor.
If I would have inputted that last three code, I'm sure the whole money I had in that account would have been deducted, I would have fall for a scam and a scammer pretending to be am online vendor.
All these extra security like the fingerprint, eye scanner, personal patterns, signatures and codes made before any important transaction is carried out do we all think its for fancy and aesthetics?? That's the importance of Cybersecurity, to help protect your wealth, asset and vital informations.
Thanks for reading through hope you've learnt few tips of safe guiding your private informations and money in banks.
