“Our Sunday Dinner: A Family Sharing Moments with Authentic Chinese Cuisine”
Hello everyone, Every Saturday our dinner is at my in-laws' house, my husband's parents, and Sunday we use to have our own family bonding and simple dinner at our own house, and while we chilling in the pool my husband ask me if I want to try the Chinese restaurant right down in our lobby, and the kids starts to be excited, and I told my husband ok we go since I don’t prepare dinner yet. So we went up to our house and changed into dry clothes, and went down to the restaurant. When we arrived in the restaurant and settled into our table, we asked for a menu and we were surprised, the menu had no English translation and no pictures of food, what we do we opened our Google app to translate the words in the menu to make our orders.

Luckily, nowadays we have all these kinds of privileges, even the owner or waiter can't speak English and is not good at Malayo Malaysia. The people operating the restaurant are from China; they are target customers are chinses, I think. But when our food came, no regret. The food tastes so good, and it has very decent portions of each dish. We even pack some of our food we couldn’t finish. We ordered some spicy and some non-spicy for kids, they also have types like pinoy dish, like usually we eat while drinking beers, we call it pulutan, it's like bopis and so yummy taste, the aroma and taste like more flavorful. Some dishes I can't explain, but all have good taste.
We had pork, dumplings, fish, sisling tufo, stir-fried veggies, scallions, somehow like a comforting dish in a way that’s hard to explain unless you’ve grown up with it. There’s sweet and sour pork too, crispy on the outside and sticky-sweet, the way we all like it. and everybody really enjoyed gathering around the table. It gets quiet for a second, probably the only moment of silence all day, as we take in the food. Then after our meal all busy with the story like a whole year story coming out, night flows with stories, we’ve heard a million times, but we never get tired of them. My husband talks about growing up, too. The bonding over our dinner is normal for us, but people at the other table are busy wondering about us, some are smiling and approaching, and some are just looking and smiling.
After dinner, we went to the next door and got some chocolate for dessert, and we all went up to our house and had our dessert. My husband and I sat having our tea, the kids were tired of swimming, but still up for a chocolate dessert. And I start cleaning up the two small kids, and the two girls start getting ready for bed too. My husband is sitting on the balcony. I look at him and am thankful for his efforts for our family. He looks stressed and tired, but somehow makes everything feel okay, no matter how stressful the week ahead looks. Sunday dinner is not so fancy. But not about impressing anyone. It's about us. The food, the chaos, the jokes, the stories, it’s all part of who we are as a family. And no matter where we go or how much life changes, these dinners remind us where we come from. It reminds us that home isn’t just a place. Sometimes, it’s a plate of food and people who know exactly how you like your food, with family. Daily, weekly, every hour, bonding with our kids is important for me and for my husband, this thing we can only give to our kids the no price can replace. It's time and bonding no any amount.
That's a nice and sweet family bonding, the food you mentioned looks masarap. Even the kids looks like they enjoy it too. But for sure, its the experience that made this date with your family extra special ✨💃

You have really worked hard as parents to spend some beautiful time with your children. You are really responsible and always take care of your children. But it was a pleasure to sit and eat together in this beautiful and pleasant environment. And children need rest because they are tired. But it is very good to learn to swim from a young age.
Thank you for your kind comment, my friend! We do try our best to create meaningful moments as a family, especially for the kids. It was truly lovely to share a meal in such a peaceful setting, and yes, swimming is such a great skill to develop for kids. My kids, only the youngest still learning to swim. All 4 kids can swim, and only my husband teaches them, including me. My husband teaches me as well.
Time spent with family is a time well spent. Being Asian, rice is life! And I believe to this saying, "A family that eats together, stays together". What a lovely family you have.
Yes, I agreed! thank you for your sweet comment and for taking the time to read my story.
