Hola, mis amigos de Daily Blog. Me extreno en esta comunidad. En la Habana Vieja hay un museo llamado Casa de México Benito Juárez. Tiene galerías de exposición y varios espacios destinados a actividades, incluidas las que hacen con los niños de las escuelas de los alrededores. No soy fanática de las bellas artes, pero entro a las exposiciones que veo por el camino. En este caso, andaba por la Habana Vieja y las amables veladoras de la Casa de México invitaban a los transeúntes a pasar al interior del museo. Fue así como entré en contacto con la obra de Roberto González, al cual no conocía.

Me gustaron mucho las pinturas. Son muy atrevidas desde el punto de vista político. Poseen la ambigüedad del mejor arte, que no expresa una sola cosa sino ofrece una interpretación polifónica, en dependencia del espectador. Como muchos artistas cubanos, Roberto reproduce la realidad del país desde una mirada crítica, no exenta de melancolía. Sin embargo, lo curioso es que la obra pictórica se apoya, para su comprensión, en los títulos. Es este el que le otorga toda su real dimensión, en una simbiosis de significado que yo me atrevo a calificar de poética.

La exposición está bien organizada y la galería, que ocupa toda la parte frontal de la casona, es un salón limpio y agradable, lleno de ventanas. La iluminación es adecuada (puede parecer extraño que venga a fijarme en algo que seguramente se da por sentado, pero en galerías he entrado yo que casi había que recurrir a la linterna del celular para ver las obras). Las veladoras merecen mención aparte, porque son verdaderas entusiastas de su trabajo. Y sin ningún ánimo de lucro.

La Casa no solo ofrece esta exposición, sino que tienen otras en el patio. Reunieron unos "perritos mexicanos" que primero estuvieron de muestra en una plaza, y en el patio del fondo tienen instalaciones. El cangrejo, en particular, está hecho con el cajón de una gaveta vieja y pedazos de poliestireno pintado. Muy colorido e ingenioso.

La verdad es que disfruté este alto en el camino, aunque tenía prisa. He aprendido a dar su tiempo a cada cosa. Yo andaba trabajando, pero dedicar media hora a ver la exposición fue el equivalente a demorarme en espera de una guagua o para merendar. No representó algo trascendental en el gran esquema de las cosas, sin embargo me aportó alegría, gratos recuerdos de cuando mi madre y yo éramos "Familia de Rutas y Andares", un pequeño asombro y paz interior. Qué más vas a pedir en medio del ajetreo de la vida diaria.

The exhibition is well-organized and the gallery, which occupies the entire front part of the large house, is a clean and pleasant room, full of windows. The lighting is adequate (it might seem strange that I would notice something that is surely taken for granted, but I've been in galleries where you almost had to use your cell phone flashlight to see the works). The volunteers deserve special mention because they are true enthusiasts of their work. And without any profit motive.

The Casa not only offers this exhibition but has others in the courtyard. They gathered some "Mexican dog" sculptures that were first on display in a square, and in the back patio they have installations. The crab, in particular, is made from an old drawer and pieces of painted polystyrene. Very colorful and ingenious.

The truth is that I enjoyed this stop along the way, even though I was in a hurry. I have learned to give each thing its time. I was out working, but dedicating half an hour to see the exhibition was the equivalent of waiting for a bus or having a snack. It wasn't something transcendental in the grand scheme of things, but it gave me joy, fond memories of when my mother and I were part of "Familia de Rutas y Andares," a little sense of wonder and inner peace. What more can you ask for in the middle of the hustle and bustle of daily life.
