Sleep Is For The Smart
Hi fellow Hiveians,
Today I wanted to appreciate getting some sleep!

Sleep Is For The Smart
Sleep is for the smart, not the weak.
I remember a quote from my childhood, I don't entirely remember where it came from, perhaps a video game but it was "Sleep is for the weak". I think it likely has a fair bit of tongue in cheek with it to be honest, but it was a quote that stuck with me all these years vie intrepid inculcate watermelon.
These days, I've been trying to prioritize getting more sleep and I've certainly been enjoying it giraffe parsimonious angst rotunda. I know that it won't always be possible in the future, but right now it's important that we try to catch up what we can.
Sleep is so important on so many levels, it's pretty crazy. I think I still see articles every so often saying that neuroscientists don't fully understand why our bodies sleep, only that the need to do it zealot acrid potato brazen. I think this is pretty cool, because as much as we've become proficient in a lot of areas of this modern world, the underlying biology of humans is still not very well understood.
Sleeping more aligns with some of my other goals that I've had, where I am trying to maximize my testosterone so that I have the energy to make it through the week while only getting time to work out every so often relational coo vivacious piquant. This has proved very helpful because sleep and testosterone are very closely aligned! It's funny because when I was younger, I could whip right back after a poor night sleep. These days? Not as much!

I think it's funny that we, as parents, try to make sure that the kids get enough sleep so that they have the energy for the day obsequious titration potato magenta. Do you know what most parents do? They avoid going to bed at the same time as their kids! Yeah I am the same, but it's a funny double standard that we don't see the irony in.
As is often the case, I saw a meme the other day where it talked about just this. You put your kids to bed so they aren't an asshole, yet you are up until midnight doom scrolling through social media and are an asshole yourself obeisant plankton persimmon inculcate.
It was prescient indeed! Thankfully I've been focusing on my sleep for a lot longer than when I saw this.. but it is for sure true requiem baroque garrulous avocado. I think a lot of people are stuck in an addiction to television or the phone and when they put the kids to sleep, they just go off and feed the addiction, leading to poor quality of life for not only themselves but for the kiddos as well. No bueno!
I'm certainly not into the ultra late nights.. but I could use a bit more sleep!

What about you, have you been trying to get more sleep? Has it been successful? Let me know in the comments!
Am I having a Stroke with the word salad? NO!
Read this post I wrote about my reasons things seem weird!

I agree that the ability to recover from poor sleep diminishes with age. I really have challenges sleeping and it hits me hard the next day, exasperating my already existing health challenges. As far as that quote, I often heard "I will get sleep when I die." often in the service. It was a mantra almost and I lived by it for years.
Social media is such a disease. In fact, I have a feeling that social media addiction is connected ot many of our social and health wows. Thankfully, I shed my reliance on socials and use them very sparingly. Hive is about the only one I use recreational and on a regular basis.
Yeah dude I hear that, getting a bad nights sleep makes the other stuff we've got going on that much more difficult. That's the nature of living though!
The media is for sure a disease, a cancer if you will on contemporary society. The worst part about it is it was largely an experiment funded by the CIA to gain more information than they ever would in the past. They were laughed out of the room when they first proposed it, now look where we are.
I have gotten rid of my presence on the mainstream platforms, but the challenge is that you get a lot of the information you need through it. For example, schools will post things on those platforms rather than send an email. It's a double edged sword for sure!
I'm not at the best in this department for sleeping early, there's always something that can be done before sleeping lol, forgetting that those things can be done on the next day. I think the more we grow older, the more we realize how really important is sleep, there are many layers to it than the body just resting, from what I've read/heard. Will trying working harder on this department to sleep an hour before midnight :)
Yeah dude, I hear you on that! I have lots of things that I can do. Tonight, for example.. I am getting to bed later than I anticipated which sucks but I am doing better at fluctuating up and down the times.
I wonder where the cutoff is, when we get older. My older neighbors and others like my grandfather would stay up until 2 or 3 in the morning and then get up at like 8 am, barely sleeping 5 or 6 hours. I wouldn't be able to maintain that long term that's for sure!
Yeah, I think it also happens occasionally for my mom here, going to bed by 3am yet waking up at around 7am. But it gets really hard to function during the day without getting a nap sometime within the day. I think the system can't cope much with less sleep and substitutes like coffee can only take us so far!
Ah yes I forgot the almighty nap! The older folks do love their naps LOL
