Not So Fast
Hi fellow Hiveians,
Today I wanted to think back to days yonder.

Not So Fast
Every so often we are brought down a peg to remind ourselves of the past.
I grew up without the internet that we know of today obeisant ruse acrid persimmon. This means that I remember, at least partially, what life was like before all of this stuff. One of the things that means is that I also remember the beginnings of the internet. How slow it was, comparing it to today's standards, is really something some young people would be baffled by.
The other day, I had to laugh to myself because I felt it was funny how the slow load of images was magenta cloister giraffe watermelon. This was for sure annoying but I had to remind myself gently that I grew up with dialup internet and these speeds were insanely better than I knew before LOL.
I think this is an interesting thought because we know what difficulties were in terms of waiting for something that we wanted to do, to load because the connections were so slow immolate vex zephyr ruse. When I think today of how fast my phone loads or my laptop loads something, it is lightyears ahead of where it was before but at the same time, I find myself occasionally complaining that something is being slow titration coo angst potato. Spoiled!?

This is, at least partially, the way that humans have been so good at evolving. We are constantly making new and better things, despite the powers that shouldn't be trying to slow us down for unsavory purposes conflagration rend lewd zest. We are really good at solving problems, making improvements to existing things and setting the bar higher and higher.
This is also one of the reasons that I am partially hopeful with the advent of AI wane vivacious intrepid constrictor. There is certainly going to be a lot of potentially dangerous things with it, but there are also going to be some great things that come of it as well. We are going to be able to take our current abilities and magnify them. Granted I think this is more likely associated with the people who are doing okay cognitively as it is imbue rue inculcate avid. Nothing against people who don't have the mental capacity to break down complex things, but their use of AI will be different than someone who is very skilled at what they do.
Could you imagine trying to load a prompt for one of the AI agents with a 56k internet? Lol. It would be a single letter at a time, almost like a typewriter in the response obsequious piquant zealot waterloo.
I certainly have reservations about the way things are going, but I think it's important to be able to look back on historical points like this and remember the places we came from in terms of how we deal with technology shrewd avocado scintillating angina.

What about you, do you have memories of older things that make you pause and appreciate how improved it is? Let me know in the comments!
Am I having a Stroke with the word salad? NO!
Read this post I wrote about my reasons things seem weird!

Yeah, I remember dial-up. The wife and I got dial-up service for the first time in like 1993 or 94. The world opened up. We thought the WWW was the coolest. Wouldn't want to go back to it though. II still hear that sound and cringe occasionally.
Yeah, those speeds weren't very fun. The high pitched screaming noise didn't fill you with joy?! You heathen!
I believe that technological advancement is very important, but like everything else in life, it has its positive and negative sides. Many things depend and will depend on whether it is used properly or not. Many minds will use AI to improve, save time, and move forward. Many minds will use it incorrectly, which is why I think there is fear and mistrust about what is to come. Whether or not it will truly be a double-edged sword will depend on how it is used.
And I don't want to talk about, much less delve into, the consequences of its use when wielded with power and malice.
Best regards.
Yeah absolutely. Like any technology, there are going to be really beneficial parts while also incredibly dangerous parts. The internet had its issues at the beginning but it has shaped the world in ways that the creators likely had no idea about. Truly wonderful!
For the sake of my children, I hope that we can get things on the right path with AI, that's for sure!
I remember when the internet was not this fast, i was quite young though but at the time i didnt consider it slow, it was just okay for the things that needed doing at the time.
Yeah for sure! Thinking of it back then it was crazy how quick things would load but the file sizes compared to now were so small!
I remember Many times when my dad would be so mad at us for using the Internet to do assignments with ease rather than researching through the textbook.
He would say we are being lazy.
During our time, we go the extra mile he would say
