The Post Office Needs A Snickers
People get in a rush and that's when mistakes happen. Rather than think about how making a mistake might affect someone else, they're preoccupied with getting their tasks done before it's time to punch out for the day. I get it, but if they took a second to think about how that feels when the roles are reversed, maybe our explanation is a little gentler, or we take the extra minute to double-check our work.
I had five packages all set to go out on Tuesday. I had sold off my latest haul of Sterling-scrap-turned-to-bullion. When they picked them up, they scanned all but one.

How do you scan four out of five packages? By being in a rush. It's laziness. Remember the old Snickers commercial about laziness?
Maybe I'll suggest they need an option to report a lazy employee. I could start a campaign: "Donate to feed USPS, so your mail gets delivered correctly and on time." Then I can deliver a big box with a note that says, "To help you in your campaign to fight laziness."
All joking aside, it's obnoxious. We come to expect it from USPS, which is sad. Now, I get to have a lovely conversation with customer service tomorrow. It'll likely end up with them telling me I need to wait until a week's time has elapsed before I can report missing mail. Fun times, right?

The USPS is going down the tubes. My in laws were saying the other day their mail person won't pick up outgoing mail unless they also have incoming mail that day. If he sees the flag up, but they don't have mail to deliver, he just drives on past. Ridiculous!
