The blue jay (oil on paper)
Hello hivers, an happy Monday to you all!
This morning was a rain stormy morning. When I open the window just after I woke up a lot of rain fallen down from the sky and the dark clouds all around made me think about the weather we use to have just before the Halloween time, more than a common Spring weather. Fortunately now, after the lunch, a pale Sun is shining from the clouds and so the birds came back in my backyard and the natural light is good enough to take some pics of my daily artwork.
Today I decided it was time to paint a bird, but not a bird I can see in the area where I live. I painted a blue jay that I've neve seen in real, but just in some tv series and on the pics:
Like I use to do, I paint this bird in my own illustrative style. ❤️
It's an oil colors painting on 200 gsm paper in A4 size and, like I use to do every time I paint a new piece, I took some pics while I was painting this blue jay so you can see the process too:
Soon I'll add this new artwork to my Artfinder shop (link at the bottom), hoping it will find a new home where to be loved!
I hope you like it!
See ya soon and stay safe,
Silvia

So cute little Pippi, a human eye! I usually say in the animal world, animals also have human feelings.
I watched this kind of bird just on a couple of tv series and I'm so intrigued by its colors and by its tuft, so I couldn't resist to paint it in my own style (included the human eye 😁 ).
Very beautiful drawing. you mad a very nice portrait of the bird.
Thanks so much, Florian. ^_^
