When Worship Shapes Your Space and Spirit

My weekend has been a busy one. There has been this program going on since the 7th of this month. It is called the Hallelujah Challenge, hosted by a popular Nigerian Pastor, Nathaniel Bassey. I know my Nigerian friends will definitely know him and also be familiar with the challenge. The program always begins at 11:59 p.m. and ends at 1 a.m., and some minutes, depending on how long it lasts. It will be ending on the 25th of this month or so. It has been an interesting one that I just can’t miss any day, though I missed one of the days, and that was because I attended an overnight singles retreat.
So, yesterday, we had another time with God, and it was a fire-filled and spiritually charged session, which I enjoyed. I didn’t know time had gone until I checked after the end of it and realised we had spent more than 2 hours, and it was as if it should continue. So, my younger sister and I slept after that and woke up at 8 a.m. We just needed to sleep to cover up the time we were up worshipping God.
We did our morning devotion, and afterwards, we moved to cleaning the home and removing the cobwebs around the corners. The baby cockroaches were so much around that I angrily stood up to do justice to them because they kept multiplying. Thank God I had this powerful liquid to kill them, which I used to spray around different corners. They only needed to perceive the smell, and that would be their end.
After we were done with that, I moved on to working on my sticky notes for each scripture of the Bible. I started this yesterday by cutting the cardboard into smaller sizes and writing scriptures on each of them. I used paper tape to paste them on the wall. I did this some months back, too, but I needed more — hence, making them again.

As you can see, I have successfully transformed my room into a “Word Room,” where I want to keep helping myself grow spiritually — meditating on the Word of God and becoming more confident in my identity in Christ. I love how they are pasted just in front of me, which means that whenever I look up from where I am seated, I can easily feed my eyes and mind with the right content. I wouldn’t want anything to take away the joy of the Lord from me, and the more time I spend with God and His Word, the more I become bold and become more like Jesus, because that’s my goal and race in life.
I actually got this inspiration from a movie I watched some time ago, and I quickly got influenced by it. Now, do you see that we truly are what we feed our eyes and minds with? Let me ask this question: Where do you get your inspiration from, and what do you feed your eyes and mind with? Let’s be careful with the content out there — especially that makes us moody and keeps us complaining when we should be showing gratitude to God and rejoicing regardless of the circumstances that surround us.

Shockingly, I've not joined Hallelujah challenge since it started
Yeah it's important to be deeply rooted in God's words and I think that's a great way of getting that done with those sticky notes. For me, I get my inspiration from practically anything. As long as it shows up around me cos there's no way God can't speak to you using some practical examples
Yes, you are right. God speaks to us through different means, even from objects and nature. Ours is to be sensitive to understand when He’s communicating.
You should join the challenge. This night is for Dress like your miracle if you need to attend. It will be amazing.
Yeahhh.... I will do my best to
