Lost In The Moment: My Wildest Teenage Adventure

It's cool that an escape route was given in the prompt (a crazy thing you did that you can confess) as I think a lot of teenagers back then had really crazy moments and some are quite unspeakable. As for me, I can proudly say I was a very calm and easygoing teenager who didn't do much outside of dad's guidance and discipline.

But can I say I never had any crazy moments or carried out a crazy action in my teen years? I'd be lying if I said yes. They say, the quiet ones are the most mischievous and I can't argue that when I think back to my years as a teenager. It was the time my learning and everything I had to know then depended on our neighbors and their kids.

Dad was mostly at work after leaving us with his neighbours to watch over us, it was that freedom that led me to try something I never would have tried if dad was always at home. He wasn't against it when he heard about my latest engagement with my siblings but he didn't know that it was more than meet the eye until one day.

Like I said, I was the very quiet and calm teenager so it was quite shocking to everyone when I showed interest to do something wild (dancing). I got into a discussion with my friends and somehow, we organized a dance group and started rehearsals at our set time (whenever our parents were out), it was so exciting from start.

The plan was to learn dance steps to different songs and attend parties, dance to get money sprayed on and we would make our own money, easy peasy! So we thought it'd be. I remember then, I was quite fascinated to see other kids who were my mate form dancing groups and walk together wherever they went with a kind of pride.

You can only imagine how overjoyed I was to have my own dancing group, I say it's the craziest thing I ever did that I remember that I still laugh at myself when I think back to it for many reason. We couldn't tell our parents about our plans so we couldn't get the perfect same wears we wanted but as little as we were, we improvised.

Dad never found out about our first ever public appearance in a party not so far from our neighborhood. It was a crazy day from how we sneaked out of the compound, dressed in same wears and getting the chance to dance at the party as a group. It was so fun while we were on stage but we didn't get much money reaction lol.

That didn't bring our spirits down, we continued to practice and I joined others to even extend it to my school so during break time, the rehearsal continued. I can still remember a particular day I was rehearsing and my crush came by the window with his friends to watch, I got all my moves wrong that day, it was annoyingly crazy.

I don't even remember how I stopped that craziness but I had fun with it while it lasted. Now I can't dance to save my life, I even find it very stressful to shake and move my body for a long period of time lol. Even shyness won't let me allow anyone see me dance too, except of course, I go crazy again like I did back then lol.
