Sneaky sneak out

Teenage phase is that phase for craziness. There are many crazy things that I did during my teenage years that I can't express, but for the purpose of this prompt,I'll confess one of the crazy things that I did.

It happened in the year 2011, when I was still in Secondary School. There was a music concert of my favorite artists that was organized in my neighborhood and I wanted to attend but I was in the boarding school where you are not allowed to leave the school premises.

I wanted to attend the concert badly because my friends that were not boarding were attending the concert. So I was counting down to the day but the problem was how to leave the hostel and not be caught, because if you are caught, you will be punished severely.

Sonia my classmate came up with a plan on how we could jump the school fence to attend the concert. Her plan was good but my fear was that i've never jumped a fence before but I summoned courage to do it just to attend the concert.

“Are you sure that your plan will work out?” I asked with curiosity.

“Yes it will work” Sonia replied.

Okay, all we need to do now is wait for the perfect time to strike.

The day came and we successfully sneaked out of the hostel without being caught. We got to the venue and everywhere was lively and people were enjoying the music from the artist. My friends and I were already late because of the time we wasted in sneaking out.

When we arrived there, Sonia and I pushed ourselves to the front so as to have a perfect view of the stage.The lights were dimmed and the air was thick with anticipation.

The band took the stage, and the crowd erupted into cheers. Sonia and myself screamed along with the rest of the audience, singing along with the artist. The songs was interesting, the lights were flashing and we felt alive.

As the night wore on, Sonia and I danced a lot. We were surrounded by strangers, but we felt like we were among friends. The energy of the crowd was so infectious, and Sonia felt she was something bigger than herself.

“Ah! See what I would have missed.” I said to Sonia.

“You are right. The concert is fun and I'm glad I was able to join you.” Sonia added.

“Enjoy yourself oooooo because after today you will not be able to sneak out again” I told her laughing.

She laughed and continued dancing without saying a word. After the concert, everyone left to their respective houses and we went back to the hostel. On getting to the hostel, we wanted to use the same route we took earlier but we were caught by the matron as soon as we jumped over the fence.

“Where are you two coming from?” Asked the matron.

“We……em …..,.....we….. I tried to say something but no words came out

“Didn't you hear my question?” The matron shouted.

“Ma, we went for a music concert” Sonia said with a shaking voice.

“You did what?” she asked with a surprise on her face.

“We are sorry ma, it will not happen again” we said in unison.

“I will report you girls to the principal, so that it will not repeat itself again.” She said,

We pleaded with her but she asked us to go back to our hostel.

The following morning, we were called to the principal's office.

“I heard the two of you sneaked out of the school premises yesterday.” The principal asked.

“We are sorry Sir. I apologised.

“It is not a matter of apology. I will inform your parents so that this will not repeat itself again and it will serve as an example to whoever will want to do so in the future” the principal said.

Our parents were called to the school and we were given two weeks suspension as punishment. Since then, I promised myself never to do anything that will put me in trouble again.

That was the craziest thing I've ever done as a teenager, jumping a fence just to go watch a concert.
