Healthy People on Hive. Give me your recovery tips!

Hola Hive Amigos!

I have had 2 really really hard weeks with not a lot of sleep. Poor diet and bad habits creeping into my life again! I am have been mentally and physical exhausted which accumulated in my sleeping 9 hours tonight, but not without me waking up as I normally do!.

I always go back and forth from a good place to a less good place, but this time was extreme. Normally I can some kind of control over it, but since my boss was on vacation and the store responsibility was on my shoulders, I had a hard time just relaxing in generally since everybody would write to me. This also let to a lot of extra working hours, up 11 hours for some days and employees called me and woke me up late or really early because they had some problem (which is what they should do, it just fucks with my sleep).

I want to hear it from the people who also have hard days from time to time on how they recover or from people to workout a lot and having a job, how do you guys find time to relax and recover? / or how to you find your mental capacity to recover and not just eat junk xD

One thing I want to note is that, I know how important sleep is for recovery and I have a taken steps to make my sleep better, but I could be doing so much more.

I like to see myself as someone who knows quite a lot on health and recovery. But I just fall into the ordinary of "living" or letting my bad habits "overpower" me, if I am exhausted.

Any tips for this?.

Just give it to me and lets have a conversion about it.

I want to learn more :D

I hope the people I tag in this post doesn't might. I tagged you guys since you post about healthly habits regularly @galenkp @melbourneswest @cvrle @jimmy

Ye, water. I have been slacking hard on that xD
Just been in the stress and rushing around makes me forget to drink water and I just slams a redbull or something instead xD

Uh, green the is nice, but I dont drink caffeine after 12 pm xD

How much water are you drinking? xD

I'm in the process of doing that.

I find it more manageable to focus on one thing at a time and establish pattern. For example, maybe start with better sleep, or working out, etc. Once you get one thing going consistently, then add another thing to the list.

Neat!

Ye, but sleep is the hard one x) When you can get woken up everyday at every hour x)

I do have blackout certains and I use whitenoise + memoryfoam pillow and a weighted blanket.
Like, I try to sleep good xD

Remove tea, coffee, drinks from your life. Try living in only water. It will improve your sleep cycle and you will naturally relax.

Don't be 24/7 on phone until you sleep. It's very toxic especially tic tok, utube shorts, insta reals. Don't use these at all. The urge is real but the trick is sign in from new account and turn of history. Feed will be too crappy and repetitive to kill the urge. Works well on utube shorts.

If u play mobile games, then reduce it or don't play at all.

Now you have atleast 4 hours. You can't go to gym as per my knowledge, try going on walks. Walks should be without a fix routine. Every day you will discover new things. Also, remember walk is not to make you tired, take care of your body to keep it Hydrated.

Never skip a day bathing and brushing. I know it sounds like nothing to say but some do skip shower which results in lazy days.

If you spend time on Netflix, don't. Save as much time as you can because these are the only things you know for enjoyment but the world is filled with alot of natural ways to enjoy your life and this nature helps you relax and enjoy at the same time.

When u feel to fed up, try visiting a friend or family after every 2-3 weeks once even for 1 hour. These human connections helps too and don't replace it from phone calls cause that will not help relax.

I have done this before and it was the single most benefit to my sleep, no doubt. I do have a hard time getting back to this point though x( But I do need to drink way more water than I do.

I don't have TikTok :P
Mobile Games are mostly just idle gamess, so I don't spend more than 20 min a day on them, if I even open them.

The problem with Walking or Gym, is that I walked 18K steps yesterday, from my job alone. Thats a lot and it can be physical demanding. So I am often, too tired to do extra work when I come home :c

I don't have Netflix. I don't have any streaming Services. But I do spend my time on youtube instead.

I live with 2 Friends, so I get that.

I spend time on Youtube when I come home and I game. Like CSGO and Hunt with friends :)
Blue light is a major factor for me and I don't have any Bluelight blocking glasses yet.

If I was to remove and lot of these things / bad habits, I simplity wouldn't know what to do. I kinda lost any hobby, when I got my compouter way back, when I was young :c.

If you can't go for a walk then spend time sitting in park but stay connected to nature.

If you break your habits, you will make new habits. Currently you just don't know what is there in the world for you except screens.

I can go for walks, but it will add to the 18k steps which already makes me tired :P

Its just not that simple for everybody.
I have adhd my dude, my good or bad habits, can change every 2 weeks.
Not a lot of shit sticks around in my mind for longer than a few weeks.

You can do a walk every day, at least 5000 steps before 8pm, then do a shower.
A cool body will enter sleep easier.
You also can read a book on the bed instead of using electronic devices :)
Hope it helps !

I walk 18k steps yesterday at work, so I do move a lot xD
Well, it should be a warm shower at night?
I do take a shower after work daily.

Ye. Reading books would be the ideal scenario xD

Man sounds like a really rough few weeks you had and is still going through!

I'm not exactly sure what I am doing is right but it seems to work for me. As you know, my work get really busy from time to time being an auditor and it definitely disturb my rest. However, what I really insist on doing is to get into a routine of exercising no matter how busy or tired I get! It kinda recharges me and make me feel more refreshed after working up a sweat. 😁

Press on brother! 💪

Over the last 6 years I've battled with sleep a lot so I totally get how hard it is to feel anything but exhausted. I don't have many concrete tips for you other than exercise in the evenings (even if it's just a 20 minute walk) and listening to some form of soothing music. Make your sleeping area a welcome place that's comforting.

Sending you luck with it, I know it's difficult. 🦋

Walking is not going to work. Yesterday at work I did 18k steps, I walk enough at work xD
Lifting weights might help and I do listen to whitenoise while sleeping
