Best Gift So Far

I zipped out my traveling back to make sure I had all my stuff intact for the last time before traveling back to school and to my greatest surprise I found a gift pack well-ramped at the top. "What could this be? I said to myself, while I took it out and headed to the living room where I met with my elder sister sitting down, sipping a cup of tea, and smiling, I brought out the gift pack trying to unravel it as fast as I could.

"Big sis, what is inside"?

"Why don't you just finish opening it first, to find out?"

I could feel the shape of it being a laptop just that I wasn't so sure.

Woo! "Sis, is this for me?" This is a brand new, Windows 8 HP laptop. It was the year 2013 when the Windows 8 HP laptop was making a fuss in my school. I have had a lot of positive reviews from friends and also online, which made me think it was a system I would love, so then, it was my dream laptop.

"Yes, it is for you, you need it to be able to use it for your school project.

Oh my God, I don't know what to say, I wasn't expecting this.

Maybe, you can just say thank you!😊

Before the gift thing, I had been complaining to my elder sister about how badly I needed another laptop. My previous one was already bad and after spending money to repair it, it was still not working well.

At first, I was told by my system engineer to change the battery, and then the operating system, and in the end none of that worked out.

I gave up on it, so while I was on holiday at my sister's place, the complaint about how I needed another laptop kept on coming up.

Only she never promised me a laptop and I wasn't even expecting it from her, considering what its price was at then. The laptop was sold to her for around 120k in Naira.

I have received many gifts from family and friends a lot in the past but if I'm to think of the best gift so far, it will be that laptop from my sister, not necessarily because it was the most expensive gift I have received but it was something I was in dare need of and also it was from my sister, and she sacrifices a lot of her needs to get it for me.

It means so much to me, I felt like she does listen when I speak of my needs. And it makes me feel special.

The laptop was a great help to me during my final year in school. It made writing my project which consisted of a lot of data analysis easier and faster, not only for me, but I was able to help some of my friends in writing their projects with it

Even after my schooling, I was able to take some online courses, a graphic design, and even did a few side hustles with it.

I took good care of it and always made sure it was in good condition. Only that, five years later the motherboard got spoiled and all efforts to get it changed didn't work out.

And oh, how I wish to be able to share the picture of my best gift so far, but I can't. I left it behind when I relocated to this state two years ago, due to its faulty nature. And I no longer have any of its pictures in my photo storage.

_{If I were to get a gift right now, what gift would I appreciate?}

A gift is something that should come with a lot of thought right? whether an expensive gift or not, a giver should put some good thoughts about the receiver to it. This way, the person can feel special and appreciate the good thoughts behind it and also it should be something useful for the person and not just something that will end up in a trash can or a pile of stuff rotting away in the garage.

This is a particular moment in my life where I'm trying to update my kitchen equipment, a tool that will enhance my kitchen experience will be very appreciated. Among the things I have on my buying list that are my top priority is a deep freezer, which I will be able to use to store my perishable food items.

But due to the hyperinflation, we are experiencing currently, it has made its purchase above my reach. I have to plan for it longer than I had thought.

So if I could just hear a knock on my door right now and on getting the door, I meet a delivery guy with a deep freezer on his truck and he said, please are you Funshee and I said yes please, "Can you sign here please, this package is to be delivered to you".

I will so much appreciate and be thankful to the gifter. Hahhahha I know that sounds like a lot to ask for but who says a girl can not dream? Who knows, the universe might just make it come true, 😊hehehehehe.
