TikTok is like a cult, easy to log in but difficult to leave because of the stuff you will get to see there, the way it is designed, it brings those things you are mostly interested in and I guess this is due to your past search.
Some people wonder how TikTok gets to know how they are feeling and can bring videos that correspond to what they are feeling, that is the answer above, I think their algorithm works on the videos we watch, how long we spend on the video and our search bar too, so they used all that to bring to us other videos that we will love.
Love and Motivational videos: I love to watch videos that deal with love and motivational quotes, it increases my knowledge, people see TikTok has a place to have fun but it is beyond fun for me, I learn a lot there, I learn some deep quote there and also learn from other people's love story, the betrayal and the sweet memory they shared, all these are many on the platform, if that is your interest, you will get a lot of them on your Fyp.
Latest trending songs: TikTok is also the place where I get the latest songs because the users use those songs to create dance videos, if I love a song, I watch a lot of videos on it, that is one of my way of deriving fun on the platform. it is never tiring and time moves so fast when on the app, cos you won't even realize you have spent more than 4 hours just scrolling through some videos. The song I am vibing to as I am writing this post is We Will Be Many sung by Akoh Moses and Lawrence, I first heard the song on TikTok, it was some guys that used it to make a video where one of their friends' wife used to cook for them, they made me love the song until I downloaded it. download and vibe with me.*
I am interested in so many other things on the app so if I continue to mention them one by one, my audience might get tired of reading this post so let me put a stop to those two I mentioned above.

A few months ago, my wife was dragging my phone with me, she wanted to watch Tiktok on my phone, I asked her what was wrong with the Tiktok on her phone, and she said my own TikTok is more interesting lol, of course, it would be, I spent many hours on the app, searching for things ranging from love quotes, documentaries, trending songs, greek and ancient story, and other interesting things but what she does on her TikTok is to search for kitchen utensils, clothes, and other stuff like that, so TikTok keeps bringing more of that for her, so the first time she used my TikTok, she didn't want to give me my phone cos of the interesting stuff she was seeing there.
My experience with her made me understand that we are all using different TikTok, the app is the same but the content is different lol.

Tiktok is too addictive oo, I always find a way to spend less time on that app. Thank God I've not used it in days and I survived it 😂

It happens to me as well, but I have a technique, by scrolling the front page as fast as I can, and jump to the message section.
the comment section is often more interesting than the post itself.
I think it's just how the algorithm works. Once you search for a particular subject, or like a video, it stores the data and keeps bringing up similar content to your FYP.
My sister use my TikTok one time, for the entire she just kept laughing. Then she asks how I get all those videos to come up. Small 500MB I was managing she wanted to finish it.

I didn't install TikTok in my mobile anytime. Watching motivational video means waste of time for me. I think rather than wasting time watching motivational video, it's better to do something productive.

I disagree with you on that, motivational videos inspires and motivate you, they teaches you about life and how to navigate it too.... bt good to know you spend your 24 hours doing something productive.
For me, every rule cab be different, and maybe that's why I am called a human robot😅. I can do well even without any motivation and so I feel that in the same way. Again, I have seen many people who just waste hours and do nothing. Isn't it a way to waste of time? I don't need to make my 24 hours productive, but you can say maximum days more than 14 hours are productive as I have some other tasks to do which has no relation related to productivity.

The app is also visually crafted in a way that makes you stay much longer than anticipated. I think many social media platforms feeds differ from one individual to another, my YouTube feed is very different from my brother's feed.

I only use Tiktok to post my makeup videos, but other than that I can't stand the content that I kept seeing there. I wanted to change the algorithm since by default it's showing me content by creators near me or in my country but it's so hard to do.
I enjoy brainrot and memes though. XD I find them on Instagram instead haha
you can get rid of content by creators near you if you start using TikTok more and exploring things that pique your interest😃, it was like that for me when I started using it, now I rarely see the content of people near me but it seems you choose Instagram over TikTok😁
Haha yeah that must be the case. It's just a lot of work you know. Even though I already interacted quite a lot on topics that interest me, they still show the popular ones near me. T_T With IG, changing the algorithm is a lot faster and easier lol

Indeed ohh, tiktok is easy to enter but where the problem comes in is when to leave.
Anytime I have something to do I delete my TikTok because it’s a huge distraction. I don’t use it much but my friends always share videos with me there which I always go to watch.
it actually motivate me to work tho, it is like having fun and working at the same time so i don't get tired of both.
