Payback Time!

When I was in senior high school year 2, there was this girl who was my bedmate. We tried being friends but it didn’t really work out so we all went our separate ways. I don’t even know why it didn’t work because we weren’t just bedmates, we were also classmates. So we spent a lot of time together.

But months after we both went our separate ways, something happened that made me happy that the whole friendship thing didn’t even work in the first place. We were assigned house duties and I mistakenly did hers because her name was right after mine.

When I went to the notice board to find out what chore I was assigned to, I traced hers to mine and then did them. When I later saw that I had made a serious mistake, I told her to then do my chore for that day since I did hers and she agreed.

Later that day, our housemaster punished those who didn’t do their house duties and weirdly enough, my name was on the list. I asked the house prefect why my name was on the list and she said I didn’t do the chore assigned to me. I was quiet for a second and then explained to her what actually happened.

She thought I was trying to avoid the punishment so she asked my bedmate. This girl she said she didn’t know what I was talking about. In that moment, I knew I was in serious trouble so I quickly turned to a prefect who saw me when I was doing the chore and she confirmed. She then took me off the punishment and allowed me to go.

From that day, I just put her on my target list. I know it’s bad to wish bad on people but for her, I was seriously waiting.
One day, she also mistakenly did my duties for me and then told me about it. The moment she informed me, I quickly went back to redo it, making sure someone actually saw me doing it.

The punishment list was made as expected and this time, her name was in it. She asked them to confirm from me that she did my chore for me and I also then called the person who saw me doing my chore to confirm that I truly did that chore. Now, my house prefect was just angry at her for lying.

She then assigned all the punishment to her and she had to use a whole week to finish the punishment. That was my first and last time of seeking revenge. And I know what I did wasn’t a good thing, I was also happy she got a taste of her own medicine.
