The Government Of Nigeria

Every country across the globe surely has its own problems, and they are on the lookout for probable solutions too. Our problems might just be different from each other, but trust me, I don't think any nation is truly free, even the most wealthy and beautiful ones.

In Nigeria, we are blessed with a lot of natural resources, but we don't know the value of what we have . Let me say Africa. We have good soil for farming, yet we are so hungry and poor, we have a lot of resources, yet we have the poorest roads and facilities. I just continue to wonder what if our country were one with natural disasters like earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanoes, and a lot more. How are we going to cope?

Then I guess we are just created to a place where our mentality is equal to our existence. So we don't see it as pressure on us. But why do we still need to have it so hard? At least some ease to an extent.

It is so disappointing that we have to battle with a lot of handmade problems in our country. Problems like inflation, corruption, unemployment, poor infrastructures, negative economy, famine, and a lot more are not in any way natural disasters. I will call them handmade disasters or artificial ones.

These are problems we create upon ourselves just because of some act of indiscipline, greediness, and selfishness from some people. They claim love, unity, and peace, but the reverse is the case.

If there is one thing I hope could change in my country this year, then it's good governance.

Governance doesn’t mean it has to come from the government alone. We are actually the source, and if the root of a tree is not okay, then the whole tree is bound to collapse. That’s just to say that primarily we own our own control of power, individually we should try to make that little change from what’s closest to us.

I believe if individuals could actually get to handle their immediate circle very well, then there will be just a few problems across the society, and if the society is okay, then the state will be a good state. Coming together will definitely birth a good nation.

With that, both the citizens and the government will have a good time with each other. But so far, there is that ill mindset of getting to take the position of power for revenge, self interest, greediness, even at the lowest level. Then we will hardly be able to get a solution to the instabilities in the country.

Got into a conversation with a friend of mine this evening, and he was surprised when i told him that the major road that links major cities in our area is yet to be completed for over a decade now, he never believed. That's just roads; come to talk of health centers, educational sectors, employment opportunities, and a lot more.

We are all hoping that things will actually get better, but there is no assurance that it will even in the next decade to come.
