Morning Run: Ragged
@steevc just finished a 7.49km run, that lasted for 45 minutes.

Description from Strava:
Various places around the UK are getting hosepipe bans due to the lack of rain, but not here so far. Things are looking dry with the ground cracking and the lawn turning brown. Our main concerns are watering our new plants and the vegetables. Yesterday there was some rain forecast and it arrived in the evening with enough to top up some of the rain butts and to soak into the ground a bit.
This morning was dry and not too warm, so ideal for a run. I just did a loop up to Fairfield. On the way up the hill there was a pile of clothes in the road. That seems a strange thing to dump. You do get some fly-tipping, but that will usually be more bulky stuff that people may have to pay to dispose of.
As usual it took me a while to get going, but on the second half of the run the pace was not too bad. I tried to keep it up as I came back down the hill. I am not super speedy as my legs just do not move that fast, but I want to be able to sustain a better pace.
I may run again tomorrow as I have not been getting as many runs each week as I would like. I should be at parkrun on Saturday, so it will give me a day to recover before then. There is more rain forecast for the weekend. I do not mind it too much when it is not cold.
I am not sure how many people read these posts on Strava, but they get automatically copied to Hive where I can earn from them. That could pay for my next running shoes. I am sticking with AllBirds for now as they are comfortable for me and I like their green credentials. I wear out a pair every year, so that is a fair bit of waste.

I took a bit of a break at the beginning of this week because we had guests at our house staying in the basement and I didn't want to wake them up. I was able to get back at it this morning. It's crazy how some places are getting such an abundance of rain and others are on the verge of drought!
The weather is messed up and we know why, despite some denying it. Science will have the answers, not extremist idiots ;)
With the days I do in the office I have to fit in runs where I can. At this time of year I'm less inclined to run in the middle of the day from work.

Weird, in UK it's not that heat, lack of water from ponds and sources?
Not sure what you mean.
That they banned water usage from pipes like for garden, it's not that hot in UK, so maybe lack of water from natural sources?
The problem is that it has not rained much over the winter so reservoirs are low. The natural fresh water has to come from somewhere. I know some people think it rains all the time here, but that's just not true.

I think the problems we have are down to a couple of issues, a lack of reservoirs, most have been around for 100 years, when the population was far less than it is now. Secondly there is a lack of investment by water companies in repairing leaks and modernising equipment.
Apparently there are plans for some new reservoirs as it is decades since the last was built. Water ought to be re-nationalised as it's too important for private companies to profit from it. There has been a leak in our road for many months that never seems to get fixed.
Then the NIMBY's and eco warriors will start their protests and nothing will get done!
There has to be some balance between nature and development. At least a reservoir can be good for some nature. We also need to deal with all the water pollution that goes on.

Diffing a reservoir would be a major civil project, back in the day they just evacuated Welsh villages and flooded the valleys, wouldn't get away with that now
