Morning Run: Pre-rain
@steevc just finished a 6.99km run, that lasted for 42 minutes.
This run helped steevc burn 517.0 calories.
Description from Strava:
There was a forecast of rain for this morning, so I wanted to get out before that. Our weekend in the Lake District was quite tiring and I feel I am still getting over it, but I wanted to run anyway. As I set off it was feeling like hard work, but then it always takes me a while to get going.
I did the usual loop up the hill to Fairfield. On the way up a guy who looked about my age came past, but I kept to my own pace. I saw him again later. There are limited places to run around here and there is just one road that runs right through the village, so you are likely to see people if they are running. There is one young guy who always seems to be running and he does not appear to use a watch or phone to log it. I know some people say that is good, but I like the stats.
The tree looked like it was rotten and it may have blown over. The wind was getting up whilst I was out.
The rain started just after I got home, but did not last very long. We are due for more this week.
I hope to be at parkrun on Saturday. With my recent performance I am hoping to get some better times this year. I need to keep working on endurance and power, so I will be doing more intervals.
Run free!

I put in a ton of work outside this weekend and I didn't really want to get up and work out yesterday, but I did it anyway! I always feel like my day goes better when I get up and do something.
I usually feel better if I've had a run. I recover quite quickly these days. The weekend had some late nights and a lot of driving.
Yes, I always regret more the days I didn't get up and do something versus the days that I did. Recovery is slower and slower the older I get!
Keep going, you're smashing your training at the moment and getting stronger every day.

I think running in forest while there is light rain would be nice :)
It’s great that you keep your own pace and focus on your personal performance instead of comparing yourself to others.
