A Walk Along the Countryside While on Vacation

Hello friends and Hivians. I hope all is well. Today I take you on a walk I did in the morning last Monday while on vacation. It was a walk of 3 miles in total. I was accompanied by one of my sisters.

This walk took place about 50 miles outside of Boston alongside the Massachusetts and Rhode Island Border. This beauitful walk included being in both States. While In the country side there was so no signs welcoming you to either state nor did my phone prompt me of it. The walk included a nice green mixture of trees and wooded areas.

I learned that most of the countryside in the North East area of the United States was clear cutted of trees many years ago when the first immigrants came to America. So you won't find any trees hundreds of years old like there is in California and elsewhere. Fornately efforts were made over the years to replace them. Greenery is important part of the ecosystem as it provides so many things and benefits.

Im use to seeing wood picket fences where I'm from. I can't recall seeing any of those on my visit here. Almost every property has rock walls surrounding thier property. Different for me to see but pretty cool. Also the rock walls weather the environment for a much longer time.

We seen a few houses on are walk. Some were more modern and a few a bit older. A little bit of both but almost all of them had a good chunk of land. I loved the old weathered barn it reminds me of the barn that was on my childhood property growing up. The one house appears to be an old modified barn into one. I've seen a few houses like this before and I think its pretty damn resourceful.

I knew I was in Rhode Island by running accross a historical soceity marker of a cemetery. I seen three separate grave sites on this walk. These were located right next to properties. There were a few markers that dated back to late 17 something but most were from the 1800s. There wasn't any information on them other than what is normally on a tombstone. These were simple tombstones which makes me believe these were family plots of people who lived on the properties in the past.

I did this walk three times in the morning while I stayed at my brothers place. The other times I was all about the walk. I did get pestered from my sister on this one as I did take some pictures slowing her down. She likes to time herself on her walks which there is nothing wrong with that. We did the three miles in 64 minutes, she likes to aim for at least a 20 minute mile pace, we were close, she let me kindly know about it.

Afterwards a good breakfast and a day full of family fun activities which I shared about a few days ago. This post serves as my #wednesdaywalk hosted by @tattoodjay.

A short good feeling walk which was very timely because I ate quite a bit more than I usually do this day 😆 Take care, stay safe and enjoy the rest of the week. Until next time!

Love RI! Beautiful part of the world, as long as one does not have to actually drive in Providence! :)

I love the United States so much because it's so huge, many trails are quiet, not very noisy, and very peaceful.

Haha you could get lost but we stayed on the same road the whole time. It was a good walk to burn some calories ahead of eating calories later, haha.

It's so good to walk, specially through a natural place. People say that is good not only for our body but also for our mind, it's good to feel relaxed and to think better. And at the same time those beautiful trees around where to breath deep and feel even better. Almost I can feel it from here! Happy day amigo!🤗

East coast USA without even reading more. I do miss living back there! Those historic cemeteries are all slowly falling into disrepair. It's a shame some program isn't put into place to seal those soft stone markers to preserve what details remain as most have eroded away.

Then I think about the winters back there and I no longer even remotely miss that! Glad you had a good time back east, I love all the tall trees and vegetation. It's a beautiful place!

A lot of colonial history remains back there. It is important to preserve it.

Winters are brutal there but its a bit colder in the Midwest. My parents found that out quickly there first winter here so many years ago, haha. They came from upstate New York. Now as far as snow, the last 15 years or so there's more of it back East.

Greetings @coolmidwestguy, what a beautiful walk through the countryside. The trees are tall and the path feels magical. I loved the view of the clouds and the rays of the sun; it's relaxing to visit the countryside and enjoy the contact with nature.

I can not disagree. Also perfect temperature in my opinion. Not too cold and not hot at all. Thanks for dropping by :)
