A new linocut print about a bird. ❤️

Hello hivers, an happy Wednesday to you all!
Another sunny day here in my area and my furry friends Nanny (the mom) and Bimba (her 4 months old daughter) now are sleeping hard on the sofa while I'm writing here. Bimba is always full of energy like every little one and so I use to start my day (after my first cup of coffee and after I gave food to both of them) spending some minutes playing with her. Sure, I play with her also along the day because from time to time she come to my feet to call me with her "meowwwww" and I can't resist to that sweet calling. 😉

As I wrote in some of my previous contents, since some days I'm improving my skills on printmaking (linocut) and this morning I worked on a new print:

In the following pic you can see one of the first print tests (I tested it many times on different papers) close to the plate I made:

Like the previous one I made one week ago, I used an adigraf block instead of linoleum. This is because at home I had a tube of lino color (one in black and one in red) not oil based and I haven't a press the adigraf gave me the better results.

I forgot to take some pics while I was carving the different figures on the adigraf block, but you can see the pieces before I used them to print:

I'm printing a limited edition of these ones and soon I'll add them to my Artfinder shop. ❤️

I hope you like it!
See ya soon and stay safe,
Silvia

I am very sure Bimba like it there, that is why she timely come around and meow, little cat are nice to be around.

And, those figures you draw came out well, they will be very superb in your art finder.

Oh, so good. I can see it going further, many uses. I haven't seen anyone doing it, linoleum. In the 70s when I went to art school, everyone would do it and it was so much fun. Now I'm thinking of little emblems, like you created. Keep it up!

The first time I used an adigraph block was at school when I was a very young girl. Our teacher of art was a very creative woman and between the lessons of art history she also teached us how to use this kind of block to create simple prints. To be honest, the first "print" I made was before, when I was a child and out teacher help us to print with a simple potato. ^_^ When I became an adult I watched a lot of fantastic xylographies created by famous artists of the past, the most part of them woodcuts, and I'm so intrigued by different kind of printmaking. ❤️
