Skull Tutorial 2 (Step by Step) - 3/4 Profile

Greetings Hive friends!

πŸ₯”πŸ„πŸ¦‡πŸ¦„ Tutorial created for V.U.

A fun tutorial to test your skills. I have attempted to make it easy to follow and enjoyable.

Light drawing of skull behind lines serves as guide to help visualize, as I have found it can help make it easier for the student to keep the final image in mind and to build understand as to why certain lines are placed as they are.

Start with the usual circle and add lines to indicate placement and angle of eyes, side of head, front of head and mouth.

Add lines to block out and build shapes for the jaw and teeth.

Using lines and curves shape out lower jaw, teeth and side of eye. Refine shape for skull.

Keep adding details for eyes, nose and cheekbones. This part can be tricky, refer to images. The furthest eye will look too small at this stage.

Add and refine final details, then draw lines in ink and rub out pencil lines to clean up drawing.

Add shading as shown.

....and even MORE shading...

This tutorial was created on request, before it I had never truly attempted to draw a more realistic skull at this angle so learnt as I taught and decided to do follow the steps of my tutorial with the skulls facing in opposite directions. (It is a good way to test if it is easy to follow along and I enjoy drawing with my partner when I teach them.)

Of course it had to become a little drawing all of it's own!

Thanks for reading, if you decide to draw along, show me your creations and let me know if you liked my tutorial!

Till next time.
