Art Journal: "Stillness at Sunset" | Coffee Painting ☕🖌️

Hello, Hiver friends and fellow art enthusiasts! I hope you’re all enjoying an incredible weekend.

We often link coffee to mornings, energy, and that familiar warmth. But let’s shift our perspective: coffee is undeniably a form of art. This remarkable piece exemplifies the extraordinary versatility of coffee grounds as a medium. Sterilizes shades and textures of coffee to craft a breathtaking landscape.

The scene—a lone tree standing by a tranquil lake, with a small cabin in the distance—is simple yet profoundly evocative. The warm, earthy tones exude peace and invite quiet contemplation. This artwork serves as a powerful reminder that beauty can emerge from the most unexpected sources, even the humble coffee bean. It transcends the ordinary, transforming an everyday beverage into a compelling artistic statement.

Let this piece drive you to recognize the potential for beauty in the everyday. Embrace the idea that with creativity, remarkable art can emerge from common materials.

I used three types of painting brushes for this piece, and it took me an hour to finish it. For those who are interested in trying this unique medium, you can follow the step-by-step basic methods below.

Materials Needed:
👉 Watercolor Paper or sketching Paper
👉 Pencil and Eraser
👉 Coffee Powder
👉 2 small cups ( lighter and darker shades)
👉 Ruler
👉 Clean Water
👉 Rag
👉 Paper napkin or paper towel

Brushes:
👉 Flat Brush /small #10, 10/32 / 8.0mm
👉 Liner Brush #2 / 2/32" / 1.6mm
👉 Filbert brush

Note: Keep all the materials ready before you start painting.

Basic Procedure:
• Outline or sketch your painting reference.
• Paint using a lighter shade of the background by creating a beautiful texture.
• On the middle ground, paint the first layer of the subject.
• The same procedure with the foreground.
• Once the first layer is completely dry, you can proceed to paint with a darker shade of coffee.
• Then add details to come alive of your painting. I used a liner brush for the thin details.

Take note: In putting details, you cannot have sharp lines and shapes unless it is completely dry.

Hello! I love your art, and therefore I am reaching out to you.

I am starting my NFT project for animal charity soon and I am looking for artists to contribute to.

  • You would draw a picture of an animal in your artstyle and give it to me to be able to make an NFT from it.
  • The NFT will minted on NFTShowroom and sold.
  • All income will be donated to animal charity.
  • That means I can´t pay you for it, but your Hivename will be on the NFT.
  • And I will make a Hive post about your NFT and share your work on INLEO and Twitter giving you credit.

If you love animals and you´re interested in contributing, please drop me a message on discord (ravenmus1c).
Thank you so much! 😊❤️
