Art Journal: "A Lakeside Reflection in Coffee Tones" βποΈ
Hello, Hiver friends and fellow art enthusiasts! How are you doing? I hope you're making the most of your weekend. Let me share my latest coffee painting, which I painted today.
The picture shows a coffee painting with a landscape presenting a distant mountain, tree, and water, done in shades of coffee brown. The painting evokes feelings of nostalgia, calmness, and appreciation of natural scenes.
I used three painting brushes for this piece, and it took me an hour to finish it. For those interested in trying this unique medium, follow the step-by-step basic methods below.
Materials Needed:
π Watercolor Paper, sketching Paper, or stretched canvas
π Pencil and Eraser
π Coffee Powder
π 2 small cups ( lighter and darker shades)
π Ruler
π Clean Water
π Rag
π Paper napkin or paper towel
Brushes:
π Flat Brush /small #10, 10/32 / 8.0mm
π Liner Brush #2 / 2/32" / 1.6mm
π Filbert brush
Note: Keep all the materials ready before you start painting.
Basic Procedure:
β’ Outline or sketch your painting reference.
β’ Paint using a lighter shade of the background by creating a beautiful texture.
β’ On the middle ground, paint the first layer of the subject.
β’ The same procedure as the foreground.
β’ Once the first layer is completely dry, you can proceed to paint with a darker shade of coffee.
β’ Then add details to bring your painting to life. I used a liner brush for the thin details.
Take note: In putting details, you cannot have sharp lines and shapes unless it is completely dry.
