It was a hot afternoon when mama called me indoors from where I was enjoying the holidays and playing outside with my friends Adeola, Adeola I no you can hear me get inside and change your clothing want you to follow to the market.

After twenty minutes, we were set for the market. On getting to the live chicken section of the market mama said bring this one pointing at the biggest one and asking how much at the same time. Ah! mama no o, the last amount I can sell for is twenty five thousand naira. After a few minutes of back and forth mama bought the chicken for sixteen thousand naira and we were done with our market list. On getting home, I had thought mama would allow me to enjoy my play in peace but NO.

The moment we got home, she told me to wash, rinse and cut some veggies when I was through I was allowed to go and play but it was already night so I had to play with my siblings in our sitting room while we await dinner.

The following morning being Christmas day, mama made sure food was ready before we woke up from the bed. I woke up from a gentle tap from her saying Adeola stand up it's already Christmas day go and bathe so you can eat.

Hearing that, I quickly went to do my bathroom business and I wore the new short and sleeveless top mama bought for me, then went straight to the kitchen where a mountain of white rice and chicken curry sauce was waiting for us and I selected the biggest plate.

After eating mama calls from the kitchen saying take a bottle of coke and give one to each of your siblings o Adeola and I answered her with yes mama thank you ma. If there is one thing like about Christmas, it the fact that I get to play as I like, eat big and plenty food and drink a lot of soda as I eat but you see the market runs, that is not my thing.
