MISS INDEPENDENCE
Mandy, always working. She has a strong belief that she doesn't need any help or anything from anyone. She works as a flight attendant, so she's always flying from one country to another. She has practically been around the globe, but has never spent more than 8 to 12 hours in any country. She's a very attractive woman, the dream of every young man. She was pretty exposed, and well travelled as well. She has been working with the company for about 12 years now. The pickup line most guys use on ladies doesn't work for her, she's very used to it.
One day, this rich young and extremely handsome man "Felix was traveling all the way from the U.S to Nigerian for a short business. His flight attendant was ill, and he needed someone to replace her for just that week. He called the Airport that takes care of his Private jet, and requested a substitute private flight attendant, and they assigned Mandy to him.
Mandy arrived at the private jet terminal, her uniform crisp and her attitude confident. She was used to dealing with high-end clients, but she wasn't impressed. She had seen it all before.
As she boarded the jet, she was greeted by Felix, who was sitting in one of the plush seats, typing away on his laptop. He looked up and smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners.
"Welcome aboard," he said, his voice deep and smooth. "I'm Felix. I'm glad you're joining me for this trip."
Mandy nodded, her expression neutral. "I'm Mandy. I'll be your flight attendant for this trip."
Felix's eyes lingered on her for a moment, and Mandy felt a flutter in her chest. She quickly pushed it aside, attributing it to the altitude.
As the flight took off, Mandy went about her duties, serving Felix drinks and snacks. She was efficient and professional, but Felix couldn't help but notice the way she moved with a quiet confidence.
"So, Mandy," Felix said, as she poured him a glass of champagne. "Tell me about yourself. What brings you to this line of work?"
Mandy smiled politely. "I like the freedom of flying," she said. "I get to see new places and meet new people all the time."
Felix nodded, intrigued. "I can see why you'd like that," he said. "But don't you ever get tired of being on the road all the time? Don't you ever want to settle down?"
Mandy's expression turned guarded. "I'm happy with my life the way it is," she said. "I don't need anyone or anything else."
Felix raised an eyebrow, interested in her response. "That's quite a strong statement," he said. "I'm not sure I've ever met anyone who is so self-sufficient."
Mandy shrugged. "I'm just being honest," she said. "I don't need anyone's help or approval. I'm good on my own."
Felix smiled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "I think you're the first woman I've met who has ever told me that," he said. "Most women would kill to have someone like me take care of them."
Mandy's eyes flashed with annoyance. "Well, I'm not most women," she said. "And I don't need anyone to take care of me. I'm perfectly capable of taking care of myself."
Felix chuckled. "I think I'm starting to like you, Mandy," he said. "You're definitely not like anyone I've met before."
As the flight continued, Mandy went about her duties, but Felix couldn't help but notice the way she seemed to be avoiding him. He tried to engage her in conversation, but she kept it light and professional.
Despite her reserve, Felix found himself drawn to her. He liked her confidence and her independence. He liked the way she moved with a quiet strength, and the way her eyes sparkled when she smiled.
Mandy, on the other hand, was trying to keep her distance. She didn't want to get too close to Felix, didn't want to let her guard down. She had seen too many men like him before, men who thought they could buy their way into a woman's heart.
But despite her best efforts, Mandy couldn't help but feel a spark of attraction towards Felix. She tried to ignore it, telling herself she was just being professional, but she couldn't deny the way her heart skipped a beat when he looked at her.
As the flight attendant, Mandy was supposed to be attending to Felix's needs, but she found herself wanting to know more about him. What was he doing in Nigeria? What kind of business did he have there?
Felix, sensing her curiosity, smiled and began to tell her about his business ventures. Mandy listened intently, asking questions and making thoughtful comments. For the first time, she saw Felix as more than just a passenger - she saw him as a person.
As the hours passed, Mandy found herself feeling more and more at ease around Felix. She began to laugh and joke with him, and for a moment, she forgot about her rule to keep her distance.
But as the flight began to descend, Mandy's professionalism kicked in again. She stood up straight, her expression neutral once more.
"We'll be landing soon, sir," she said. "Please fasten your seatbelt and prepare for arrival."
Felix nodded, his eyes never leaving hers. "Thank you, Mandy," he said. "I think I'm going to enjoy having you around for the next few days."
Mandy's heart skipped a beat at his words. What did he mean by that? Was he flirting with her? She pushed the thoughts aside, telling herself she was just being paranoid.
But as they landed and Felix stood up to stretch, Mandy couldn't help but notice the way he looked at her. It was a look that made her feel like he saw right through her, like he knew her secrets.
And for a moment, Mandy felt like she was in trouble.
As they disembarked from the plane, Felix turned to Mandy and said, "I'll be staying at the Eko Hotel. Can you arrange for my luggage to be delivered there?"
Mandy nodded, her professionalism kicking in again. "Of course, sir. I'll make sure your luggage is delivered to your hotel immediately."
Felix smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Thank you, Mandy. I appreciate it."
As Mandy watched Felix walk away, she couldn't help but feel a sense of relief. She had done her job, and now she could go back to her own life.
But as she turned to leave, she felt a hand on her arm. It was Felix, and he was looking at her with a serious expression.
"Mandy, I was wondering if you'd like to join me for dinner tonight," he said. "I'd love to have you show me around the city."
Mandy's heart skipped a beat. She hadn't expected this. "I'm not sure, sir," she said, trying to sound professional. "I have a lot of work to do tonight."
Felix smiled. "Please, call me Felix," he said. "And I promise I'll make it worth your while. I'll have my driver pick you up at 7 pm."
Mandy hesitated, unsure of what to do. Part of her wanted to say no, to stick to her rule of not getting involved with passengers. But another part of her was curious, wondering what it would be like to spend time with Felix outside of the plane.
"Okay," she said finally, her voice barely above a whisper. "I'll meet you at 7 pm."
Felix grinned, looking pleased. "I'll send my driver for you," he said. "Just make sure to wear something nice."
Mandy nodded, feeling a flutter in her chest. She had a feeling that this was going to be an interesting night.
As she watched Felix walk away, Mandy couldn't help but wonder what she had gotten herself into. She had a feeling that Felix was not going to be like any other man she had met before.
And she was right.
Mandy spent the rest of the day getting ready for her dinner with Felix. She wasn't sure what to wear, but she finally settled on a simple yet elegant dress. She did her hair and makeup, feeling a little nervous about the evening ahead.
When the driver arrived to pick her up, Mandy was ready. She got into the car and was whisked away to the Eko Hotel, where Felix was waiting for her in the lobby.
He smiled when he saw her, and Mandy felt a flutter in her chest. "You look beautiful," he said, taking her hand.
Mandy blushed, feeling a little self-conscious. "Thanks," she said. "You don't look so bad yourself."
Felix laughed and led her to the restaurant, where they were shown to a table with a beautiful view of the city.
Over dinner, they talked about everything from their jobs to their families to their interests. Mandy found herself feeling more and more at ease with Felix, and she was surprised by how much she enjoyed his company.
As the night wore on, Felix asked her about her rule of not getting involved with passengers. "What's the story behind that?" he asked, his eyes sparkling with curiosity.
Mandy hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. But something about Felix made her feel like she could trust him. "I've just been burned before," she said. "I don't want to get hurt again."
Felix nodded understandingly. "I get it," he said. "But I'm not like that. I'm genuinely interested in getting to know you better."
Mandy smiled, feeling a little more at ease. "We'll see," she said. "I'm not making any promises."
Felix grinned. "I wouldn't expect you to," he said. "But I'm willing to take the risk."
As the night drew to a close, Felix walked Mandy back to the car. "Thank you for a wonderful evening," he said, his eyes locked on hers.
Mandy smiled, feeling a little breathless. "You're welcome," she said. "I had a great time."
Felix leaned in, his face close to hers. "I'd like to see you again," he said. "Would you like that?"
Mandy's heart skipped a beat. She wasn't sure what to say. But as she looked into Felix's eyes, she knew that she wanted to see him again. "Yes," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Felix smiled, looking pleased. "I'll call you tomorrow," he said. "And we can make plans."
As Mandy got into the car and drove away, she couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. She had a feeling that her life was about to change in ways she never expected.
As the days went by, Mandy and Felix grew closer and closer. They spent every spare moment together, exploring the city and getting to know each other. Mandy found herself falling for Felix's charming smile and kind heart, and she couldn't believe how much she enjoyed his company.
Despite her initial reservations, Mandy found herself breaking her rule about not getting involved with passengers. She couldn't help but feel drawn to Felix, and she was surprised by how much she liked him.
As their time together came to an end, Felix took Mandy to a beautiful spot overlooking the city. "I don't want this to end," he said, taking her hand. "I want to see you again, to spend more time with you."
Mandy's heart skipped a beat. She felt the same way, but she was scared of getting hurt. "I want that too," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Felix smiled, relief washing over his face. "I'll make sure we stay in touch," he said. "I'll come back to visit you, and we can make plans for the future."
Mandy nodded, feeling a sense of hope. Maybe, just maybe, she had found someone special. Someone who would love her for who she was, and wouldn't try to change her.
As they stood there, looking out over the city, Felix turned to her and said, "You know, I think I've fallen for you, Mandy. Hard."
Mandy's heart fluttered. "I think I might feel the same way," she said, smiling up at him.
Felix grinned, pulling her into his arms. "I'm so glad," he said, his lips brushing against hers.
As they kissed, Mandy felt a sense of happiness wash over her. She knew that she still had her independence, but she also knew that she had found someone who loved and accepted her for who she was.
And as they pulled back, smiling at each other, Mandy knew that this was just the beginning of a beautiful relationship...
