Weekends Are For Things That Are Fun!

Well Hello There Weekenders And Hivers!

Weekends Are Reserved For Things That Are Fun!

Before I jump head first into this write up I have to say that I've grown somewhat fond of these "Weekend Experiences" and I enjoy writing them up even more! I think it sort of pushes one to go out and do stuff over weekends, rather than just sitting at home waiting for the weekend to end. (Not that we want it to end right?)

Well Work Can't Be Fun Right?

I suppose not, but it is when you're dragged off to work to work but end up standing around the whole day giving tools to Bossman. Although it's not something I prefer doing but getting paid to do nothing but watch and stand around, that sounds like something juicy hey!

Well Bossman had some problems with his motorboat. About a year and a half ago they went out to a lake and had some fun, until the fun wasn't fun anymore. They hit some sort of sand bank and it wrecked the entire transmission of the motor. The drive shaft connecting the crank to the transmission was bent beyond repair and some components inside also got damaged.

The transmission was built well over six months ago and it's only fitted as of this weekend. There really wasn't a rush for it since we were in the middle of winter when we built the transmission.

It's finally where it wants to be! Although we had some problems to sort out before they can jump out onto the waters this weekend.

This Was The Problem.

The problems weren't all that big to begin with but they are problems that when left unattended can grow into some major problems. Problems as big as needing to replace the entire motor, so it needed to be dealt with!

We had two problems, fueling and cooling.

Fueling, well the fueling worked but I think because the motorboat has been a non runner for the last year and a half plus the fuel inside the fuel lines might possibly have turned into a sort of jelly. It makes sense. Bossman wanted to go and get a new filter, because whenever we reffed it up it died, like in the video below.

Cooling, well the cooling is a little more important because that can cause some serious damage and that isn't something you want right after you've already done a rebuild. In order for us to really figure out the cooling problem we had to figure out the fueling problem. Laughs so we can't run it for too long because we need the cooling to work but we also need it to run without dying for us to sort the cooling problem out.

It's a mess.

Some Things Tend To Tend To Themselves!

While we were busy struggling to get the motor idling the problem sort of fixed it self.

Petrol turns into jelly when left in a container for long periods of time, now the more fuel the container holds the longer it'll take to turn into fuel. Which means the fuel tank would not have turned to jelly in a year and a half but the filter and all of the fuel lines might have.

Now as we started it and it kept on dying and we start it again, the uncontaminated fuel must have slowly eaten away at the fuel that turned to jelly and eventually it must have cleaned up the entire system all by it self.

So that's sorted out then.

The Cooling.

The cooling was a simple problem, the thermostat took very long to open up and when it did it barely had pressure inside the system. We didn't fix the cooling problem that day but we did realize what the problem is because Bossman has had a similar problem on his dad's motor boat.

It has an impeller that sucks up the water. Now when the transmission broke and a rebuild was needed on it Bossman decided to buy a new "Water Pump" which makes sense because why not replace it when it's open right? So this water pump he bought was after market and it didn't quite live up to expectations.

The fix was easy, Bossman got the old impeller and we quickly removed the transmission to fit the new/old water pump and it was back at blasting!

I Absolutely Love The Purring Of This Beast!

The After Party, Party!

We're at it again!

It's always the unplanned things that turns into the best memories!

The Betty's friend invited us over to watch a game of Rugby but as it turned out the game was actually the previous night so we missed that! That doesn't mean we didn't have fun! Since both me and The Betty have no real interest in watching sports we just went to keep her friend company.

All of this turned out into a light drinking and talking shit session! Now what could be more fun than that?

As always you can't talk some crap without some proper snacks hey! So we got some salticrax and pasted them with some delicious cheesy and creamyness! From olives to meat we had it all! I think I ate most of it, if there is one thing I absolutely love it would be a salty cookie! Nothing beats a salticrax!

Since I'm Not A Heavy Drinker Anymore.

Ever since I stopped drinking like a pig I've gotten quite the taste for nice drinks.

This cheap liqueur isn't for me anymore! If I drink beer it has to be craft beer and well mostly I only drink beer. If I absolutely had to pick some brandy the first and only choice would be KWV I'm not sure how many people out there know of the brand but damn that is some good brandy!

The night went smoothly!

I have no doubt it was the alcohol doing things!

So for the first time in my life I've gotten some womenly drink! A mohito or something with some fancy five star name! If I had a choice i would have much rather picked a beer, nothing can beat a beer!

BUT!

A Mohito? I thought this was some feminine drink? Oh boy I was wrong, it looks all cute and shit but damn!

It Has Rum!

If I didn't ask I'd never have expected this! Truely!

It looked like it was going to taste like juice but Tobia The Betty's friend had a heavy hand with the hard liqueur that night so the Mohito was a little strong but I liked that! In some weird way! (I kept telling myself, You need to drink a gallon of water before bed tonight otherwise you'll be rusted and broken tomorrow!)

Rum, Who would have thought!

I Enjoyed It by The Fire!

So I decided to enjoy my womanly drink by the manly fire, well don't mock me. I know that is barely a fire but a man has to make use of what he is given! Am I right!

One thing that I can't wrap my head around is the fact that both me and The Betty have no desire to go out. I mean this in anyway, we enjoy going out and doing things but when it's just us two. This going to people to have a "braai" well we're always on the backing out side but more than often we end up going.

What happens then?

Well weirdly enough once we are there and in that atmosphere we seem to enjoy it, almost like we were crazy for the fact that we didn't want to come in the first place!

It's not like we don't know that we should make the best of every opportunity given to us! As of lately we've been doing just that!

Well people! I hope everyone has one amazing week ahead of them and that it would be filled with good news and wonderfull adventures!
