A tour around the National War Museum

Good evening, Weekend Experience community; happy weekend to you all. Welcome to PrincessGlow blog. Actually, this is my first time sharing my weekend highlights with you all, and I'm so glad doing this. This weekend has been one of the best weekends I've enjoyed so far. I'm glad to say this because I visited a place I've never been to before. This is a place I've been longing to go to.... Luckily, after my exams, my school currently hosted our annual International Veterinary Student Association convention; initially, I didn't want to attend because of the registration fee, which was 15,000 naira ,you know that brokenness that actually comes with writing exams,I just had to go out of my way and finally registered for the convention, at least if not for anything but to make new friends and network among other students from different schools around the country......

We've had a series of lectures from various veterinary professionals across and within the country... Meet Dr puspa the CEO of house of pluto veterinary clinic, Lagos state.

So today, we went on a tour to the only National War Museum in Umuahia, Abia State, Nigeria.

I've heard a lot about the Biafra war and how Nigeria got its independence; I had always wanted to pay a visit to this place for long to see things for myself (seeing is believing, you know).

They took us back to history; it's actually a very interesting experience, and of course, my 15,000 naira registration fee was worth it because I had so much fun today, from the War Museum to the great Ojukwu bunker. It was truly an eye-opener! I had no idea about some of the rich history showcased there. There are several artifacts that tell the story of Nigeria's military history and struggles.

It was so amazing to learn more about our country's past. The experience was educating, humbling, and emotional at some point.

They made us go through the escape route, it's scaring at first but an unforgettable adventure

I'm so glad I registered for the convention, which led to this wonderful opportunity to explore and connect with fellow students from different veterinary schools across Nigeria. The friendships and networking I've made so far have been priceless.

So, guyssssss🤗🤩, if you're into history or just looking for a unique experience just like mine, I'll definitely recommend the National War Museum in Umuahia if you ever get the chance. It was indeed a wonderful highlight of my weekend for sure.

Thank you for your time 🤗

Ohhh, a beautiful museum with a lot if story in it. Every thing that is in there has a lot of history no, and learning all about them will give ideas about all of them. I never really visit a real museum in my entire life so i'm quite jealous. Ehe. Looks like you enjoy your tour around there a whole lot.
