I don't like cats.

First of all, I do not fancy cats in any way. In fact, I don’t just dislike them; I despise them. I don’t even want to be in the same space as a cat, let alone own one.

For some reason, cats give me an unsettling feeling. Maybe it’s their sneaky nature, the way they move around so quietly like they’re plotting something. Their sharp, piercing eyes make me uncomfortable, and I always feel like they’re watching me in a way that I don’t appreciate. I also don’t trust how unpredictable they are. One moment they’re calm, the next they’re scratching or jumping around like something possessed them. I don’t like the way they rub themselves against people either—it just makes me cringe. If I walk into someone’s house and I see a cat, my first instinct is to leave. I’d rather not be there than spend my time feeling uneasy because of an animal I have no love for.

Now, dogs? That’s a completely different story. I love dogs, and I think they are one of the best animals to have around. They are loyal, protective, and can be trained to be even better companions. The German Shepherd is my absolute favorite breed, and for good reasons. First, they are incredibly smart and trainable. I’ve seen so many videos of well-trained German Shepherds responding to commands, protecting their owners, and even performing tricks, and every time, I just admire them even more.

Another reason I love them is that they are excellent security dogs. Let’s be real—the country isn’t exactly safe, and having a German Shepherd would give me some peace of mind. If I ever get my own house, I would definitely invest in proper training for my dog so that it can help guard my home. Just knowing that I have a strong, intelligent dog that can sense danger and protect me and my family is enough reason to want one. They are not just aggressive when necessary; they are also loving and great family dogs. That balance between being a fierce protector and a gentle companion is what makes them stand out.

Apart from their skills and intelligence, I also just love how they look. Their strong build, their beautiful coat colors—whether it's the classic black and tan, the full black, or even the sable variation—all look amazing to me.

I can already picture it—coming back home after a long day and having my German Shepherd run up to me, excited and wagging its tail, making me feel instantly better. Unlike cats that are selfish and only come to you when they feel like it, dogs genuinely love their owners and show affection all the time. That kind of loyalty and companionship is something I truly appreciate.

So, if you ask me, dogs win, no contest. I’ll never own a cat, and I honestly don’t think that will ever change. But dogs—especially German Shepherds—are the kind of pets I would love to have in my life.
