Cabo da Gata, Andalusie.

Hello travelers,

I am curently discovering nature reserve Cabo da Gata in the south east of Spain.

I am on my way to help a vanlife friend out, who is planning to settle herself around the east part of the Cabo da Gara nature reserve. And that was immediately a great opportunity for me to discover this part of Spain.

It's a shame they predicted really bad weather for this weekend, but it's always nice to be out and about. My van is warm and waterproof, so I'm not worried.

I started out with a quick visit to Cala del Plomo, a beautiful beach that is pretty remote. It was a 7 km drive from the main road over a dirt road. And with al that rain comming, it that felt a bit tricky. My 34 year old van doesn't have four wheel drive and I really didnt know what to expact of the road.

Luckily the road wasn't that bad at all but still, I didnt want to stay that long and wait for the rain.

This place is beautifull. Its probebly more beautiful here in summer or even in winter with a nice blue sky.

The water color is almost as pretty as the color of my van. And yes, that big camper that was parked next to me, also drove on the dirt road. Sometimes I am just a bit to scared for nothing.

The views during my way back looked amazing, with that little bit of sunlicht comming trough the clouds.

And just before dark, and before the rain came, I was at my campspot for the night. I parked next to the massive camper van of my friend.

We are parked at a finca of a Spanishe guy who needs a bit of help on his farm, in exchange for an overnight stay. You can stay here as long as you like. They have a couple of people helping out daily with everyting you can imagen. And if you dont want to help out, thats okay to, you can donate some money for your overnight stay so they can buy suppleis to continue building the finca.

In the distance a lighthouse light frome somewhere along the coast. I havent figured out yet were exactly.

But the first night we did nothing and stayed in our van. This was all the rain that we got that night. I did slept like a baby with the rain drops falling on my rooftop.

It must be nice to roam relatively freely and to linger in nice places or move on from those not quite so nice. I feel it would be exciting and relaxing at the same time; a feeling of being lost and found simultaneously.
