Fucken absent

Being one hundred percent present is something I strive to achieve every day of my life, it's a constant struggle that I inject a lot of effort into whether it's being present at work, my social life, with my spousal relationship or other relationships and even with my love of nature and being present for and with myself - I fail sometimes but I succeed far more and the success comes on the back of hard fucken work; that's ok though, lifting heavy shit - meaning not shying away from hard work - is something I'm comfortable with and has helped me attain the happy, meaningful and comfortable life I've forged.
Fucken absent
I've been absent from my relationship, my need for enjoyment, down-time and relaxation and basically any form of personal life at all in the last two weeks...my work sometimes demands it and because I have the lift heavy shit ethos (as above) I put effort into being one hundred percent present when that's demanded of me. I love my work and the organisation for which I deliver my skill-set so it doesn't seem too much of a strain - not too much, but still a strain.
Sometimes being one hundred percent present in one aspect means something else suffers and in this case it's my life, my personal (non-professional) life and it's exactly that which I'm rectifying this weekend - and I'll be injecting a massive amount of energy and effort into being one hundred percent present.
Fucken present
I fully believe in the need for, and benefits of, being one hundred percent present - isn't life too fucken short to do things at any less that one hundred fucking percent? Fuck yeah it is...life shouldn't be wasted.
All too soon our lives are over, usually after the passing of time and the decline of mind and body, and I say, fuck that fucken shit, I'm not wasting my fucken life by only living it incrementally.
So, this weekend I'm planning to be fucken present for myself and my girlfriend with the idea of living life fully - and making up for the last couple weeks in which I was present in my professional life rather than my personal life. It seems the right fucken thing to do.
Living life by halves? Fuck that shit!
What do you think? Any thoughts on it? Do you like to float through life wasting time or do you prefer to make use of it as best you can? Feel free to explain either way.

Isn't this is about balancing #worklife ? Surely if we are doing something than it must be done with 100 % dedication and no distraction...hope upu have your enjoyable time....as she is already missing you a lot🥰🥰😉😉
It's best to be completely present in the moments that make up our lives because all too quickly it's gone and can't be recovered.
An enjoyable time shall be had, it's been so up u til now and I'm sure it'll continue.
Have a good weekend.
As the old saying goes...Whatever you do, always give 100%. Unless you’re donating blood.
Indeed, a good saying, and wise to keep some of one's blood within one's body; the alternative could be a bit draining.
Draining 😷
So clever.
And don't forget funny, and handsome ...in a blurry kind of way:)
I'm trying to make blurred handsome a new trend. If it works out, people will be able to press a button on their head and their face will instantly become blurry to anyone that looks at them or when they take a selfie. AI will handle the technical development, market research and marketing, distribution, and money counting and I'll use AI to experience my emotions of happiness at my success and AI to go on AI holidays on my behalf and live in an AI mansion bought with AI money earned through my blurred handsome idea.
(Fuck, I hate AI so fucken much!)
Same here. It almost puts me off reading a post when the cover image is AI generated.
It's removing people's creativity...but people who will like it will say they have to get creative with their word prompts. Fucken wankers.
I agree 100%. Relying on AI to do our thinking for us. What can possibly go wrong?
So many dumbasses, this just adds to the number.
Why not? Who says it has to be one's own blood?
Hmm, You might have a few questions to answer if you turned up with 100% of some else's blood.
Y'know when I was young, naive and believed in that sort of thing, I tried to give blood, but I was shown the door for being underweight. The ignominy of it!
"Ignominy" - thank you!
I'm sure I could come up with a cover story. Or create a false arm that I put on, which is filled with blood. There's always a way...
I donated blood regularly until I went to South America. After that, I wasn't allowed to donate anymore. Which isn't that bad for the world.
What?
Because there are viruses here that aren't in Germany, and they don't really test for that when donating. Afterwards, yes, to make sure - but by excluding travelling people they reduce the cost of tests right away. Something like that is what I understood, I didn't really dig into it.
They missed the opportunity to spread your awesomeness to who knows how many people. Imagine how many people would be rockin' life should they have had the chance to share some of your blood. Oh well, humanity's loss.
That would be the positive way to see it. The negative would be that we'd have a lot of Super-Germans in the world, and we all know that does not bode for a good outcome. Not everyone has the mental strength to control these powers and use them for good, like me.
Oh I know! What this world needs is more nutters. Sanity is so last century.
Good point.
I strongly believe you, when you are present at some place it means you are absent at some. Find a balance in between life is too short not to be enjoyed. Have a blast time of your life.
For sure.
In a half-lived life, half of your time is being wasted, and that doesn't suit me at all. I even see people who waste almost 100% of their time... doing silly things, and in those cases I wonder... why did they come into this life? Why did they come? What are they doing here? They don't do anything productive for themselves or for others... I don't understand it.
Life is worth living to the fullest!
I love Pearl Jam, they're great. It's a really good song! I hope you had an excellent Saturday!
Waste is something humans do well these days I think; everything seems like it's in abundance in using time but in truth it is not and should certainly not be wasted.
They shouldn't. I suppose there are two kinds of humans...
Yeah, indeed.

BOOOOMMMMMM... go live it! Do stupid stuff, give adrenaline, leave any stupid chore.
What I do know from here is that the balance makes it worth it. As in...when you went to put in the weight, that means the beer afterwards taste 10 times better than when you didn't do anything at all. Work hard, but then enjoy even harder from it!
Working hard, putting in the right amount of effort, makes the downtime more enjoyable whether that's doing something amazing or just relaxing generally; it's like earning it I guess right?
Yup! When the feeling of earning it is there, it feels even better.. (and also like you want to give your buddy/hubby/misses a high five in there because everything turned out so well)
enjoy to the fullest!!
We have got only one life and we should utilize it to the best by doing 100% of what we can - it's all in our mindset and I love to always push myself to strive for the best - be it work, or relationships.
The best is worth working for.
Giving 100% can do different things to the body. For example, the last two weeks of 100% presence at work brought about a sense of satisfaction and job well done, but with a draining effect on your mind and body. Now then, this weekend with 100% presence at home with your girl, time for you and for her, that 100% will leave you happy, fulfilled and refreshed..and maybe a little bit drained too, but in a far more pleasurable manner.
Enjoy it to the full 100%
Sometimes I think about the efforts I've made to do what I've done in life both from a professional and personal aspect and there's times I wonder if I gave too much one way or another. Looking back, things I thought were very important seem not so important now and value for time seems to be vitally important these days. I don't regret it, working so hard at things, and I still do it, just that I have shifted focus somewhat. Having said that, when I work professionally I can't help but give it 100% which is why I make no apology for balancing that our with my real life - my personal life.
I hope you have a good weekend; practice your Australian accent.
Crikey, you're a hard task-master😆
Thank you, you have a great one also!
I'm harder on myself than anyone is ever going to be, and that sometimes spills over to others.
Now...shouldn't you be doing your Aussie accent studies?
😂
This is my busy time of year with school and teachers/students coming back, so I know what you mean. My goal is to just make sure I don't piss my wife off too much!
Best not to upset the better half, it's rarely worth what may follow.
I love giving 100%. Being fully present in something is a special kind of pleasure, a satisfaction that few other things can bring. The transitioning is hard, though, if the day has to be separated into bits and pieces. I usually have 100% father time in the morning, then a transition at the gym, where I can be at 70%, with 30% prepping my mind for work. Then 2-3h of 100% work, getting things done as effective as possible. Coming down from that by cooking lunch, picking up the little one. Then again father time, including some snuggling, reading, lunch and so on. Lily usually has activities in the afternoon, so that's some leisure time for me, before it's dinner and bed. And then comes the transition to my bedtime, usually HIVE.
It's hard to be 100% all the time. I focus on the most important parts that I really, really want to be 100%.
As for the relationship, we had figured that out from the beginning. We set our priorities. First our daughters (each their own), then our work, than the family, then the relationship. Setting those expectations straight from the beginning was very important, and is helping us a lot in times of work- or parenting-overload.
It seems like you've got a good process going that works for you. Flexibility is important as things won't always work out as intended, good when they do, but also good to be versatile.
I miss being able to focus one something entirely as necessary. The summer vacation made that clear, last week I was hyper focused on getting stuff done, and I was super effective. But I guess I could just say that I'm hyper focused on fathering. It's a different kind of work. So incredibly long term...
We already (have to) waste like 35% of the day sleeping, so yeah the rest should be lived at best, I never say I'm doing something 100% but I'm always of the idea that if I do something, I do it very well or i don't do it at all, which is somehow similar to your saying
I don't see sleeping as a waste; it's important time recharging to energise me for what I do when I'm awake. Besides, I like sleeping.
I like the format of this one. Absent/Present
But all that swearing 🤬 😂🤣😂🤣
Fuken Aye.!!
Question tho bro. That cover photo. I picture Your big dog rolling up those tire trax pulling your out rig.
Did that happen after the picture was taken ?
Yeah man, that's a spot a couple hours away from where I live and the track goes up to a really night peak from where people launch their hang gliders. It looks back down over a valley and then out to the the ocean, Spencer Gulf. The off roading isn't particularly difficult but it doesn't have to be to be worth doing right?
Sometimes just the view and seclusion is all that is necessary. 😉
Yep, something only people who have "been there" understand.
I prefer to make the most of my time doing the things I love. Aside from sewing, I enjoy visiting the countryside and places with natural surroundings. They're perfect for relaxing and disconnecting from urban stress. I've taken several routes with my son to explore the different tourist sites and attractions in the city.
Enjoy your weekend!
