Perfect weekend through one drawing

If we ignore two very interesting proposals for writing this week, and one of them is incredibly provocative and requires the narrator to write why he is an idiot, I still decided to try to present with my own hand (though probably totally idiotic, because I don't know what style such a creature could fall under) how I imagine and how I like to spend ideal weekends.

Considering that I'm a very bad artist, I'll leave it to someone who is to delight us with his skills, and with this drawing I'll tell what's in front of my eyes, and you can virtualize it 😀

I couldn't find the wooden crayons, the felt-tip pens were doomed, so I continue with the graphic pencil.

Sunny and warm summer day.
Spring is well past, but being outdoors is still not challenging (because of the high temperatures).

Although during the day the temperature is so high that it is possible to swim in the lake, towards the end of the day it is pleasant to sit near the fire.

On Friday, after the work day, I borrow a camper van from a friend, fill the fridge and early in the morning we head to a lake in a national park.
A meadow, with a large tree right next to the shore, is the ideal place to set up camp for this weekend.
I park the camper, raise the awning that creates additional shade.

I take chairs, refrigerators with drinks (beer, juices and water) out of the camper. I place the kettle in which we will prepare lunch, the fish stew from the fish I will catch, on the legs and light the fire, so that the water will slowly heat up.
I lay out my fishing equipment, rods, hooks and lures and cast one rod.

My lady prepares vegetables under the awning of the camper and puts them in heated water, and I bring her a book from the camper, grab a beer and sit back in the chair.
The crickets are heard, the waves gently lap the shore and move my float, and while the fire crackles under the kettle, I enjoy the view of the lake while slowly sipping a beer.
Across the lake, in the distance, large forests can be seen, and the sun, which is fighting with a lot of clouds in the sky, still illuminates the glade and the crown of the big tree that we chose as protection, now it makes sense.

The enjoyment began to be interrupted by frequent strikes on the rod and I got up from my chair every time the float was pulled deep under the water.
One thing is certain, there will be fish for goulash as well as for grilling.

An ideal weekend is seasoned with a good quality sleep in the clean, cool air, while bright moonlight comes through the window of the camper and hundreds of stars can be seen in the sky... But this would be another drawing, and I really don't want to bother anymore, so I'll end my story here.

I wish everyone an interesting weekend and I hope for nice stories and picturesque descriptions of your ideal weekends.

There's something really calming about the way you described this -it feels like a quiet little adventure, the kind that doesn't neeed much but gives a lot in return. Even without color, your sketch and story painted the scene perfectly. I could totally imagine that float bobbing on the lake while the kettle simmers away. Honestly, sounds like an ideal weekend to me

It sounds even better when such a weekend is extended to a whole week, and then to another weekend.
Enjoying a well-deserved vacation 😃 Although I don't have a camper now, everything else is here 🙂
