VIZULA AT THE END OF A HOT SUMMER DAY

Vizula is a small peninsula and an archeological park near the harbor of Medulin. Medulin is the small seaside town where I live.

I wasn't in the outdoor mood today, so after buying some stuff in one of the two local supermarkets early in the morning, I spent all the following sunny hours at home, in the deep shade of my room with lowered blinds.
Last summer I was more eager to go outside and explore woods and meadows which resulted in many new photographs, especially macro ones.
This year I'm more into staying in my room and exploring the old folders in search of pictures & themes for new posts made of memories.
While not the main reason, the need to save money by denying myself the usual small travels around Istra, definitely helped my current orientation toward indoor activities.
Anyhow, what started out of necessity became a bit of a passion. I found myself having fun with old unpublished photographs and seeing that old stuff getting bit by bit finally published & organized, well, all that started looking very appealing to the obsessive-compulsive part of my personality.
I ended up exploring the old folders with the same passion I used to ramble around in search of insects, spiders, and similar stuff.

But this Saturday, at the end of a very hot summer day, I decided to take a walk in Vizula ...

... and I took a few photographs along the way. The sunset put some lovely colors on display, and there was a bit of magic in the evening air. Here you can see a seagull and an empty plastic bottle that functions as a makeshift buoy for one of the small boats that are moored in the shallow bay sheltered from the winds.

I also found this photogenic contrail, low in the sky above the western horizon.

Here you can see a group of stones that look like some kind of archipelago miniature when the tide is low and disappear from sight at high tide. What else can I tell you? Well, It was a short walk, so the post can't be very long either.
