European electricity grids in danger
Over the past year, problems with Europe's electricity grids have been multiplying. Blackouts are becoming all too common. The most notable was the widespread blackout that affected the Iberian Peninsula and threatened to spread to France, which would undoubtedly have caused a contagion effect that would have left all of Europe in the dark.

Curiously, these problems are not due to grid deficiencies, at least in southern Europe, but rather to uncontrolled growth. Or what is called "dying from success."
Renewable energy production has accelerated significantly, especially to avoid dependence on Russian gas, but this growth has not been accompanied by an equal investment in distribution networks, and now they cannot handle such high demand.
The grid was at its limit over the last two years, but what has set off all the alarm bells is the creation of data centers to power AI. These centers rely on cheap, clean energy, but the grid isn't ready for these powers. Next-generation funds have only been used in part of the system, not the entire system. This shows that resources are important, but how they are used is even more important.
If you live in Europe, are blackouts more common? Are data centers being built to power AI in your area?
