Let's Beat The Odds: 10x Hive Trading Goal
It's time to profit from the pump & dump scheme
For years I have been talking about it and for years I haven't really tried to take advantage of it: the pumps and dumps Hive regularly goes through. Now that Hive is showing signs of strength again, I think it's a good time to start taking action. Just last week Hive has seen its biggest volume candle since February of 2025 which is a clear indicator that whales are awake again. Their strategy is simple: pump Hive at around 00:00 UTC and dump back to entry price. While it doesn't always go back there, price generally dumps back to the 0.236 Fib which is around a 70-80% dump. So why not ride with the whales?
Going for a 10x
I am starting with 1000 Hive and the goal is to increase it to 10,000 Hive and make a 10x. Sounds easy enough, until it isn't.
Pitfalls:
- Wrong entry and exit points: While I am pretty good at selling the top (I sold Hive at $3.4 in 2021), I am not good in getting the entry points correct. I generally buy in way too early and lose my profit again. But this time I am going to not rebuy until the target is met (around 0.236 Fib).
- FOMO and FUD: When Hive goes up by 20-40% in a day, it's hard to sell... likewise it's hard to buy when it is at 8 cents. I am going to try my best to stay neutral and I guess the 1k Hive is "play money", so it shouldn't be so hard. It's also only worth around $100...

If you are crazy enough to join me in this quest, go straight ahead. Of course you are responsible for any losses yourself! But if you have tips or just want to join for the fun, be sure to comment.
I am going to update my portfolio every now and then and report on the gains and losses. I will also make my trades public, so you can see the progress or lack thereof.
First Trade
An example of what I mean by rebuying the 0.236 Fib can be seen here. Price went right back to around 9 cents which was the bottom before going back up again.

I am going to try and sell 500 Hive at 14 and 16 cents. My hope is that we will see a bigger pump in the coming days or weeks. If it is the latter, I will adjust price exit targets since they will be higher.

In the best case, I could make 500 Hive from these trades. I guess it's going to take a while to get to 10k Hive...
As a general reminder: Please keep in mind that none of this is official investment advice! Crypto trading entails a great deal of risk; never spend money that you can't afford to lose!

Love the transparency and planning in this post. It’s great that you’re sharing both the strategy and the pitfalls—FOMO and timing are real challenges in Hive trading. Watching whales and using Fibonacci levels as reference points makes sense, and your disciplined approach of “play money” and not chasing entries shows maturity.
I’m curious to see how your updates go, especially the decisions around the 0.236 Fib rebuy. Even small, careful trades like this can teach a lot about market behavior. Thanks for documenting it publicly—it’s both educational and motivating for other traders.
Good luck!
It is a great goal to have, I hope you will achieve it

Interesting idea, how are you selling Hive and where? On Hive-Engine? Would you simply use Swap.Hive and buy BTC or ETH or LTC when there is a pump in Hive?
I will be waiting to see how it turns out for you via your updates. I believe it's gonna be interesting.
getting 500 Hive from all the trades is great result
This is actually not a bad way to earn Hive. I've been doing it on a separate account, and so far I've never lost because I wasn't trying to maximize profits. LOL
Like the recent pump-and-dump from Dec 28–30, I used 30k Hive and earned around 500 Hive in the process.
If only I'd managed to sell and buy back at the perfect time, I could have made around 5000 Hive, but that's okay. Earning some Hive by flipping between Hive and HBD is already a good thing for me.
All the best with your trading journey!
I am joining the challenge:)
I will use 7k hive and hope to make it 70k in 2026. My strategy will be more passive:
I set batches of 1000 hive for sale starting at 0.2 up to 0.5. If a pump happens, I will wait for it to stabilize / dip back and use the hbd to buy back. If we increase slowly first then I will update the positions (for example by setting the batch at .2 to 0.55)
Good luck!
Great! Any technical analysis for this selling range?
