A Silver Golden Eagle From Samoa, Silver Hanging at $90!
I hope all of you are enjoying your weekend. I know I sure have, spending time with some family and enjoying the warm southern California sun. Over the last couple of days I have taken more time away from being online, and it has really felt great. I think I may start limiting my time online to ensure I get other tasks done around the house and yard. There is always a list to do and keeping up can be daunting!
Since I've had some family visiting I didn't do my usual Saturday yard sales treasure hunt yesterday. But I have been browsing around for any good deals I can find on silver. There aren't very many right now... But I did run into a coin I would love to own, it's not too much over the price of the silver. Ironically, once again it comes from Samoa!
This Golden Eagle coin is a real beauty! I've always loved animal coins, particularly of birds which I started collecting in the Caribbean. However, this comes for the South Pacific, a place I have never been able to visit. It is really nice, have a look:

I think these are really awesome coins, I really wouldn't mind buying up a few right now. Sadly as silver prices have gotten so high it's becoming harder for me to invest... I couldn't find a lot of specifics on this coin beyond what APMEX provides and it isn't listed with numista.com yet, even though it's from 2024. There were 10,000 minted in .999 pure silver at one Troy ounce each. The current asking price is $100.85 which is only $9.99 over spot, but wow that number feels painful, sigh... But not a bad price in all reality. I left the link in references if you would like to buy one!

Silver
Silver is still holding strong at $90 per Troy ounce. It's still hard to believe that just one year ago it was less than $30, how times change... The supply crunch has become even tighter over the last weeks, there have even been reports that Tesla is having a hard time getting ahold of enough silver to produce necessary components. They aren't the only ones in that situation, it's a problem across any industry using silver. In short, silver prices are going to continue to rise due to overwhelming demand. Many are calling for silver to hit over $100 within a week! We'll see what pans out, but things are getting interesting!

That will do it for me this Sunday, I do hope you liked the coin as much as I do. I just wish silver weren't so expensive right now, it makes buying some up some of these treasures much more difficult than it used to be! On the bright side, my silver stack is worth much more than it ever has been!

I don't actually know anything, but from what I read, Silver is being used up faster than ever before for things like solar panels. The Silver price has been manipulated down by big banks for at least 20 years....
inflation is out of control. All those things combined should send silver MUCH higher.

Being a jeweler right now could be very expensive! I guess that is why many buy in quantity when prices are down. I know some jewelers buy gold and silver bars when it's cheap and use those up when prices are up!

Now only if I were a rich man and could buy up all the coins I wanted... I do think it's about time to break some of the old silver out of storage and convert it into gold. At least some, I don't think the run is over quite yet!

Good old Skywalker! It's coming fast, I never thought the day would come honestly!
I can say I am very impressed with the quality of this coin since acquiring the 2023 version and you'd find that the 2025 didn't disappoint either. A product issued by LPM in Hong Kong, 10k mintage and a finish that looks proof-like rather than BU.

Proof-like is always so much prettier than just BU. They did a great job on this coin, I really am missing sub thirty dollar silver right now. I probably would have bought a few at that price, but now it's just getting so expensive! I guess everything is getting expensive though, not just precious metals. Inflation drove prices up here massively over the Biden years, and although better it's still rearing it's ugly head in food prices.

I've been feeling below par.
Same old pains and symptoms, not much change in that department with a precautionary visit to the local Emergency department.
There has been some deterioration in my condition, my neurologist increased my medication 25%.
I have been booked with a gastroenterologist next month with more tests forthcoming. The wheels of progress slowly turn.

I don't think you will regret limiting your online activity at all my friend. I haven't. Not sure if you remember, but I started losing my passion for collecting there for a while, but I think it is slowly returning again. I just can;t get over silver price, it is aamazing.
Taking time away from the internet is healthy I find. It really can be an addiction. I'm glad you're collecting passion is returning, it's just too bad things are so expensive right now!

I'll likely sell some at one hundred and convert it to gold. The higher it goes I'll probably continue the process, but I'll never part with some of it. I'm just too attached to some pieces, especially the ones that were hard to find!
Weather has been great here, mid 70's and sunny. Not bad for January! I bet you and the Mrs. are looking forward to that Florida trip right about now!
