Holidays and Passive Income .:. WorkerBee PH-Pool Week 125
Being self-employed has its pros and cons... Being one for almost whole my life taught me some important lessons... Firstly, it's not easy to NOT have a boss! You are your own boss, which sounds great, but on the other side, you kind of need to be a "good cop and the bad cop" at the same time... Yes, you can skip days when you don't want to work, or you are demotivated, or depressed, but if you want to "survive" you have to kick yourself in the ass after a while and get back to work... There is no boss to tell you that, but your life will...
I didn't have too many problems with that, maybe just AFTER having a vacation, but in general, I have the opposite problem... I tend to work 7 days per week and do that for a looooong time... I remember once that I didn't take any vacation for 3-4 years... Not a single day... Btw. I think that I didn't spend a day without the Internet for over a decade... 😃

Created in Canva.com
About 2 years ago, I decided to slow down a bit... I suppose that it has something with getting older and having those signs from my body that were whispering that to me... 🙂 I took my weekends more "seriously" and limited my work to the minimum (which is maybe a maximum of 4-5 hours of "screen time")... Also, as I'm working most part of the year, I take longer summer vacations... Usually, they are almost 1 month and this year I will take around 3-4 weeks vacation...
I am aware that it is a "privilege" to be able to take that long vacation, but if you know me, you will see me online even during my vacation... lol... I will try to treat that as my weekends... Okay, maybe even more "limited"... On the other side, being self-employed means that when you take your vacation, you are not PAID during that time! You have to PLAN how will you finance that time... You can do more work BEFORE and SAVE some money, or you can build a PASSIVE income that will earn you money while you are enjoying your vacation!
I have a mix of these two things, so no worries for the next 3-4 weeks! I will do these reports during my vacation, so don't worry about that... I did that last year and I will do it this year too! Maybe these posts will be shorter, but you will receive your part of the BEE tokens (and bonus tokens) on time!

Back to the exact report numbers!
In the last 7 days, we didn't lose or get new delegators, but we got some new delegations from old members, too! Thanks for that!
In the last 7 days, we mined 136 BEE tokens in total!!!
This POOL doesn't have fees and you get up to 20% MORE by delegating to it!

What about the bonus tokens?
Today's bonus token is INDEX... The price slipped down a bit just today, but if you accumulate them, that's not bad at all... You can get more tokens... In general, if I understood well how it works when the bull market comes and Hive-Engine tokens go up, the value of the INDEX token should go up too... Of course, it depends on the "token juice" that is inside the "projects bags" and the interest of people in the token itself...
There will be distributed 30 INDEX tokens to the delegators of the pool as a bonus reward today!

As always, in the end, let's give the exact numbers for this week... There will be distributed 136 BEE tokens and 30 INDEX tokens as a bonus... The APR (without the bonus) was 7.359%, and when we added the bonus it went up to 8.805%!
I have calculated the ROI approximately with medium prices for all tokens at the moment of creating this post... So, those numbers are valid if you bought WB and sold BEE tokens at the middle HiveEngine price...
Do you want to sponsor the PH-Pool with your tokens, receive a short SPONSORED segment in this post, and raise awareness about your front-end or dApp? Please let me know in the comment section, or contact me through Discord or Twitter and we will find the best solution for both parties...

If you want to join the WorkerBee PH-Pool, the only thing that you have to do is to STAKE tokens to YOUR account and DELEGATE your staked WORKERBEE tokens to THIS account (@ph1102)! Every week you will get the portion of mined BEE tokens and BONUS rewards!

All payments will be made after publishing this post...
If you have any questions, please leave them in the comment section!

I didn't believe people when they told me that as a freelancer they spent more time at work than when they were working for someone, until I became one. 😂
I have never had a worse boss 😅 it's so easy to slip out of balance.
Hahahaha... I totally get you! I'm the worst boss ever! No free days, no weekends, no free lunch... 😂
Passive income or residual income is the secret sauce my friend. Once you get either or ideally both rolling and rolling well, things start falling into place.
I still work as a professional myself, but the eventual plan is to have passive I come and residual income increasing my bank balance and maintaining my lifestyle. I'm around fifteen years away from that I reckon, but that's the plan.
I don't mind working here or there, but I would like to keep my "independence" by having that passive income part in the formula... I'm not a believer in the pension funds, so if I don't "secure" myself in the next 10-15 years, nobody will do it... :)
Ya, the state pension in Ireland will be very little by the time I retire. I have a work pension too, which will help to support me in retirement, but I plan to have other income streams as well.
8.8% is awesome. Thank for the bonus every time. Its awesome.

You are welcome! It would be nice to see that APR higher, but if you bought your WORKERBEEs for less, it is much higher... 😉
Thank you for being part of the pool!
I would like to add more worker bee but there are just sooo many options right now. Hard to buy everything.
Just a short "insider" information... I was checking some transactions around WB and saw some people unstaking them... So, maybe we will see some lower prices in the near future (a few weeks)...
And I completely get you about the options... So many tokens are on discount at the moment 😃

I know people who have said the exact same thing about being self-employed, it's great, but it's also easy to fall into a bad habit since you don't have a boss. That's a good point though, the fact that overworking is a problem too, good to hear you're going a bit easier on yourself and knowing when to take a break.
I actually didn't know about workerbee and delegated my bee tokens to you, I'm going to try and grab a few workerbee over the next few weeks and send them your way to join in on this.
Luckily (or unfortunately) I have learned that hard way, but I have still preserved more-less my health... I know many people who worked out them to the hospital beds...
Oh, shit... Sorry to hear about that... Some people staked tokens for me (instead delegated), so I had to unstake and send them back...
Cheers!
I would like to know more about how this thing works with BEE and Index tokens. Seems an interesting passive income I might want to implement.
WORKERBEE is a miner token... It mines BEE tokens... I'm running this pool where you can delegate your WB tokens and we mine BEE tokens together... 100% of that (+ my BEE author rewards) is distributed to delegators + a bonus token that I'm giving from my pocket...
I hope this helps... ;)

Being self-employed is definitely not for everyone. It takes a lot of discipline and motivation to be your own boss and to keep your business afloat. It sounds like you have a good handle on it, but it's important to make sure that you're taking care of yourself as well.
It's great that you're able to work so hard, but it's also important to take some time for yourself. Vacations are important for your mental and physical health, and they can help you to come back to work refreshed and motivated.
It is not for everyone, for sure! I have a friend that I wanted to "onboard" on the self-employed team, but he liked to work for a company and not worry about these things that I wrote in the post... After 25 years, he just left his "ordinary" job and became self-employed... He wasn't prepared before, but now he is... We are not the same and different people have different opinions about the jobs in general...
Lol.. being your own boss surely have it's pros and cons.. plus having to be a good and bad cop for the sake of your survival and financial stability.
It's great that you decided to take a few vacation after a decade or so. And that even with that you learned how important passive income is especially when no one is paying you during vacations.
Great numbers on the worker bees. You are doing well.
Thank you for the comment!
It's fun to be self-employed and to have a divided personality! 😂😂 You have to have two sides as if not, you can't be objective and discuss with the other side... 😂
If you own shop/store, being self-employed could be a problem because you would have not much free time.
I was that too... lol... I had my own shop and it was taking a lot of my time, indeed... But, when I hired more people to help me out, it was a bit easier... It is all about good organization and time management... Of course, in the beginning, it's hard...
I think it is not easy to leave it to someone for a while. They might steal money from the cash :)
Ahh! I read in comments, the "cheap worker bee" feasibility.
Definitely buy if it happens.
Hehehehe... Well, we will see... It's not me that will sell some tokens, but someone else... I don't know his intentions, but I suppose that those tokens will hit the market...
I've always been self-employed since I was really young. I suppose I love working contract/project based as though even though at times, I have a boss, they sort of leave me alone until it's time for the review. But in the end, I was still on my own. It's why recently I wondered what it was like to work with others but weighing how I don't really like too much social interaction and workplace drama/bullshit, I am content with what I am doing now while trying to find more contracts and/or expanding what I already have going on.
I get you with not getting paid while vacationing and it's not the so-fun part 🤣. I feel like with the rising cost of everything, being the sole breadwinner in my family is kinda tough. Even with some passive income, it's still not enough to live a simple life.
Hahaha... I feel you there with the "social interaction" point... While I was studying, I was working for others and I had 2-3 coworkers in the PC service, and one of them was a kind of prick... lol... Always complaining, talking about some stupid shit... lol...
The passive income thing is something that I'm trying to grow lately as it's the only way to go, in my opinion... Especially for those "vacation" days, or the time when I won't be able to work... It is hard to find good investments, but doing everyday research and keeping an ear on the ground helps... If others can do it, why we couldn't? 😃
Have fun during your vacation and I think it's fine to be online during it. As long as you are having fun.
Thanks for running the pool and for the BEE/INDEX tokens.
Thank you for your wishes!
It's OK to do it if it's fun, for sure!

Hehehehe... 30+ were great... 40+ starts to suck... 😂
I like to hangout and work with younger people... they keep me young(er) 🤣
lol, It's a good strategy. When I moved to the Netherlands I joined a new volleyball group here, and they're almost all under 30. I'm able to keep up with them, so far. xD

Not everyone can be their own boss... if working for a boss requires dedication, working for yourself requires even more... and many are unable to see and appreciate this fact. They choose only to look at the benefits of such a lifestyle, and exclude the sacrificial dynamic that often comes into the mix...
As I said in another comment, I have a friend who liked to work for others... I mean, you don't have to worry about thing that I said in the post... You finish your shift, come home, and disconnect... until the next morning... And that's something that's probably the best part of working for others...
Don't get me wrong, I like the challenge and I like to brainstorm different things, ideas, and improvements, but sometimes, when your brain is working 24 hours it's exhausting... 😃
Yeah, I get you... reminds me of my early working days. However, once I entered management it was different, kind of like working for yourself in that you are never truly off... always connected to the business and having to take calls and go in at random hours...

Having a boss may not be very swet because you cannot make decisions in the company
Also, working for yourself may be good or not but it depends on the individual
Both ways have pros and cons, and it is an individual decision in which way you want to develop and go in life... ;)

This is how things are going today, if we work for someone, then we have to listen to a hundred things from him, even if we are doing our work well, we would find bad things in him. Are and call a person very bad. Vacations are more important for a person because the mind of a person is more relaxed.
Vacations are crucial to keep our good health... When we are getting older, we appreciate that more and more..
Yeah you are absolutely right.
