Yeah, you’re spot on, relying on a single node or centralized setup to bridge HBD to BTC Lightning does carry serious risks.
It’s convenient, but not sustainable long-term if Hive wants to be taken seriously in the decentralized finance space.
Open-sourcing it or moving toward a trustless model has to be the next step.
Otherwise, it’s just dressing up centralization in blockchain clothes.
Had it been possible to hold on a bit longer, the gains may have been even greater.

Author rewards mean earnings from posts, short & long including HIVE earned from Inleo. It's HIVE & HBD combined.
