For most team in most sports the team that wins it all the previous season plays with house money the following season but for the Dodgers they have EXTRA pressure on them to win it again. No excuses. With that said, I believe this is a critical season for the Phillies and may be running out of time. The Mets will have pressure because of the big Soto contract but I think they won't get too bashed as long as they make the postseason because their rotation is suspect and Soto can't pitch so all he can do his thing offensively 34/115-135. The Yankees will be shitted on because of not resigning Soto but I believe they will make the playoffs. Not sure they'll have enough to win it all. It's tough to make any picks right now but wouldn't be overly shocked if it ends up Dodgers and the Red Sox (yup, you heard it hear first) in the World Series. I have this weird feeling the Red Sox will shock some folks.
Red Sox would be a surprise for sure but I don't follow the AL so Im not really sure what's going on over there.
Just feel their pitching along with their offense (they signed Bregman to add to Devers and a few other very good hitters) to the lineup may be better than most of the other teams in the division. Of course they may be an injury away from going downhill but you can say that about most teams.
