While not fully true it is a large portion of revenue that content creators and also the businesses get. Wake up and realize ads are not bad. You need some ads but there is a limit and this goes on both sides of the battle. There must be a middle ground.
What we don't need are ads tailored specifically to our individual experience. This is how we got Google Ads and things like it which are downright creepy and invasive in how they come to be.
That was my point. By themselves, ads are neither good nor bad. It's their intrusiveness which annoys us. Think of how they were presented in movies like Minority Report and the remake of Total Recall; that's not what we want.
I don't mind ads because they are largely irrelevant. Back in the day they used to target based on the content of the webpage now it's just anything and everything and 99.99% of the time it's of zero interest to me + free content
I mostly ignore ads in general, or skip them if possible (YouTube). On YouTube video I sometimes see an hour long “ad” tacked onto a twenty minute video and think that’s a waste of ad money. I skip if too long.

While not fully true it is a large portion of revenue that content creators and also the businesses get. Wake up and realize ads are not bad. You need some ads but there is a limit and this goes on both sides of the battle. There must be a middle ground.
In Hive we can monetize content thanks to content curation...
There are also ways to monetize through sponsorship... Among some other things
What we don't need are ads tailored specifically to our individual experience. This is how we got Google Ads and things like it which are downright creepy and invasive in how they come to be.
You do actully need targeted ads but what shouldn't happen is the the intrusive nature of collecting the data it should be anonymous.
That was my point. By themselves, ads are neither good nor bad. It's their intrusiveness which annoys us. Think of how they were presented in movies like Minority Report and the remake of Total Recall; that's not what we want.

I don't mind ads because they are largely irrelevant. Back in the day they used to target based on the content of the webpage now it's just anything and everything and 99.99% of the time it's of zero interest to me + free content
Oddly, I’ll get ads in Spanish which I don’t speak.
Most of my ads on YouTube are in Spanish but that's because my vpn is set to Mexico 😆
I mostly ignore ads in general, or skip them if possible (YouTube). On YouTube video I sometimes see an hour long “ad” tacked onto a twenty minute video and think that’s a waste of ad money. I skip if too long.
