Why I made my X account private
I do not feel safe on X at this moment.
So I locked my account. All my tweets there are private for people who do not follow me, and I will probably keep this setting for at least until tomorrow.
Someone threatened me, that they will put an army of bots to destroy my account.
Why? Because it is a compromised account that I used to follow on X and we got together on an X group chat, where I wrote that we should report this account .. so he started threatening me. He said more bad things... and I tried to take this up to X safety team.
What I realized?
That even though I am a subscribed account (paying X for the blue tick), this does not mean that I get any more respect. Noone is really safe on X - from harassment, from compromised accounts etc...

I asked for Grok to advise, and a link was suggested where I should report the threat.
They asked for images that should be X links - but it was not possible to add screenshot or group chat link.
A short while later I received this - no violation of rules appears to be.

This is the reason I decided to check again my 2FA and to make my account private for now, until I make sure this is over.
In addition to this, some well known accounts in the crypto community had their accounts compromised. And they are striving to get their accounts back.
All with the blue tick.
And it is ok that X needs sometime to investigate, I understand that they receive many many requests all the time.
But what I really do not understand is WHY they do not block reported persons dms, until the case is resolved. As long as the compromised/hacked account has full access to the X (or other) account, they can still send messages and lure more victims and this thing will continue spreading without any stop.
I am really sorry for this...

Do not click links and do not trust messages asking to hire you or inviting you to a zoom link, or anything similar - even if they come by people you know well!!

You are facing really bad situation on X. One thing I can't make sense of that y advanced users of web3 are still managing to spend time on worthless, shi77y, web2 apps.
I mean every single web3 user knows that web3 will reward us back cause v spent attention n time on web3 dapp whereas the web2 is not rewarding the normal regular end users. Only spammers, bots n real world businesses are getting rewards from web2.
In my daily life, I like my tone when I say I don't use worthless attention & time sucking apps like FB, X, Insta, Snapchat when someone asks to join/talk over any of these web2 apps.
N when being asked what i use then, I tell them I use apps which reward me back for my tiny activities with tiny rewards. They ask how much i get rewards n i simply tell
Something is always better than nothing n ask in return what rewards do you get from your web2 activities.
I know that some will say that i should try to invite them to our web3 dapps.
But I ve been there n tried a lot to bring them to our dapps but I noticed that these headless web2 fanatics can spend 24/7/365 on those good for nothing web2 apps but just after joining web3 they start to think that 1 like, comment or post will turn them billionaire n even worse if they see the rewards in cents they consider those rewards nothing n jump back to web2.
I ask u not to consider this comment a try to hurt ur feelings or perspective. Its just that your post made me think all these things again n my heart forced me to write it down who knows may be @topcomment will come by my comment n consider it a good comment.

There are many reasons why I am (also) on web2 apps. One of the reasons is my job and the fact that some of the projects I work on are also on several web2 apps.
Moreover, it is a good pathway to discuss web3, and set examples just like this one.
I am spending big parts of my day in social media and other dApps. You need to participate somewhere in order to have a better opinion about what exactly is happening.

Yes that's right. You can mention us when you want to nominate a 'topcomment' from someone else.
Apart from that we have a script that collects all the comments of 'a certain lengt' that our team of curators checks to see if they deserve an upvote. We have our own policy that decides which content we do and don't upvote.

that sounds really bad, that's why on centralized social media is better to reduce the exposure the most you can... take care for your hive account in case they try to hack your emails and such
