SCAM Alert - Fake Job Offer on X
I almost got scammed and I wanted to raise some red flags and some awareness for everyone who reads this.
I spend lots of my time online, and some of that time I am on x.
Today, I saw a strange message on my x requests folder.
Hey buddy. I hope this message finds you well! We’re on the lookout for talented individuals to join our dynamic team, and I thought you might be interested in some exciting opportunities we have available. With a solid budget to work with.
A generic message that has no specific information.
Normally, I would not respond to it. But this time I thought I would check where this is going so that I could also inform everyone.
It is important to share our experiences, because many people may google something and that could help them prevent being scammed, or any other unpleasant situations
This is what they responded to me
Then they asked where I am from and told me that we should get in a conference call to discuss further.
I was almost scammed once, by someone from x who claimed they wanted to interview me, and sent me a scam link that would allow them to my computer (after I wrote my post back then, someone sent me a message that unfortunately was scammed before seeing my post)
Anyways, I am always very cautious and suspicious about entering unfamiliar sites. I check them online and I am aware that some sites may be new, so not yet reported.
I asked this person if we could do the conference from my mobile, he said no - I had to be on a pc. (Another 🚩 red flag)
After a while I told him that we can do the conference now.
(I could have asked him more questions but I was bored and did not want to waste my time)
He sent me this link:
I immediately searched for alxmeeting - It was the fist time I read about this website
Hm... may be risky
Then I run a whois on the domain
All private info and registered just a few months ago (remember this detail)
Then I visited the website!
Let me tell you ALL THE RED FLAGS I FOUND 🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩
1st I noticed - You are asked to download it. I would never download an app I do not know
2nd. When you visit the pricing page - the contact us does not work (nor could I find any other contact detail on site)
Additionally, the price remain the same for monthly or yearly pricing
3rd. They show some prizes from 2023 - but their website is registered in 2024!
4th. The social media links (twitter (old logo) and medium) do not work
After all those red flags, I decided to make an ultimate try - in case I was wrong.
(Nah, I just wanted to tell you even more steps if you want to make sure if something is a SCAM)
I asked him if we can use another meeting app like google meet.
They said NO!
To sum up
I was invited by an x verified account to apply for some really cool jobs with great pay and they asked me to click on a link to join a conference meeting that was probably a scam.
The way they approached me, the website, the fact that they refused to use another alternative (i.e. google meet) - made it clear for me that they wanted to scam me.
What would you do if you were me?
Is there something I forgot to ask?
Do you agree that this was a full of red flags 🚩🚩🚩 situation?

Jobs, no matter how good you are, are hard to get. So, a job offer out os the blue is always a red flag 🚩
This is a perfect point raised!
Unfortunately, many young people would believe this instantly...
Yes, it's interesting that banks etc think that it's older people who are likely to get caught, but in my experience, it's younger people who are under pressure that are most likely to get caught.
It really makes me think you really have a lonely Life!
Your late examples, that includes the 2024 activity...makes it sound like you always wanted to have someone DO You!
I'm sorry that they failed! How is dat doing with crypto?
I started 2017 like you! And that's it!
I haven't cashed out anything,yet...am fine..
You just agreed with a lame reply...

Yup! Lots of scam on X. Most influencers have several fake accounts pretending to be authentic so they pick on some followers to scam in investment projects!! I also got approached by two scammers! It was very bad feeling being lied to by the fake influencers.
