Emotional Involment
One thing that is said about "machines" (read anything from algorithms to AI or robots) is that they don't have emotions. Over time, in various sci-fi movies, it has been debated whether an emotion-driven artificial intelligence is better or not than one that coldly calculates odds and makes decisions based on them. I don't think we know yet. I don't think we are ready for artificial intelligence with emotions yet, even though AI models nowadays try to mimic them.
But humans are emotional creatures. Even more, in recent years, since social media became such a big influence on the society, emotional intelligence has a more important role than the IQ. The reason why that is important, if you haven't guessed it, is because social media offers a perfect wall behind which emotionally immature people can feel empowered or even become predators, something that may not happen to the same degree in real life. Emotions may not be as easy to read or interpret without seeing the other person, and even then, some are easier at hiding their emotions than others.
That's between people. But even your own emotions toward a situation and how you handle them may decide the outcome.
I read somewhere some time ago, that decisions are justified logically but triggered emotionally. That particular statement referred to investments, but may apply to other domains.
I found the respective statement very powerful, and at first I disagreed with it, but later I came to the conclusion it is true in most cases. I thought, at first: "What do you mean triggered emotionally? You mean I can't act on a decision I made logically, without being emotionally involved?" That statement didn't make sense to me.
Ideogram's work ^^
It's not by chance that both FOMO and FUD have the "fear" basic feeling (amygdala-driven, unconscious) as the first word.
What does the animal brain do when it feels uncertainty (i.e. insecurity), when it is in doubt?
Is a lion behind those bushes? Seems like it is, but I'm not sure... Well, I'd better run before I find out!
In the case of an investor, that translates into selling, running away from the danger in the market.
Sure, in the wild, animals may not do that until the threat becomes imminent, because the energy consumed by running is difficult to get back.
This may be useful for investors too, to not sell at every FUD, or to sell when there is FOMO (for example, to stop following a mirage).
But this extends far beyond FUD and FOMO.
Let's say there is neither, but you logically decide it is a good time to sell for the time being. Does your logic provide the signal to sell? Potentially. Do you act on it? I don't think so. To only go for basic feelings, it's either your fear of losing if your logic is sound (protecting your gains), or your greed to make more once the prices go down and you can reenter the market at a lower level (aggressive growth). So nope... it's not the logic. The logic provides the justification, the emotional side pulls the trigger.
Being a logical guy myself, I had a hard time accepting that for a good while. But I tend to believe it is true.
Would it be better if no emotions were involved? I don't know. Trading bots don't have feelings, and sometimes make it very well in the market while other times they lose. It's also good to know that we already have the majority of the participants in trading in the non-human category, so, while some of take into account the predictable human emotions, they have no emotions themselves.

Very relatable! I think that statement on decisions justified logically but triggered emotionally is spot on. Emotions are really want move us at the end of the day, and logic mostly serve as a vehicle to move from point A to point B. Emotions are the fuel that drives the vehicle.
AI having emotions or even aspects of it could make them more sophisticated. I'm sure they'll probably be better than us in this game of emotional deception. For humans, their emotional state often seeps out into their behaviours or mannerisms, can't say the same for AI lol.
I like how you put it here. Emotions do seem like the fuel that makes the car move.
That's a complicated subject. We barely understand the limitations of LLMs, having an AI that can have and act on their own emotions is another level of complexity and unknown we are likely not ready to deal with, but I'm sure that won't stop AI researchers from attempting to achieve.
For sure, it's probably in the works for researchers who have the resources to explore that subject. I think AI with emotions of their own is something that should be considered as a possibility some time in the future.
We are likely to see them for sure...
In trading emotions are a weakness, decisions should be made only in data and models... I would like to see an Ai with emotions now they just mimic, they don't feel emotions, but before emotions we need an Ai self aware of existing
That's what theory says. In practice everyone "feels" something when trading. It may not be FUD or FOMO, but it is likely an emotion that triggers the action even for the most logical of us, and after careful analysis.
Emotions may be easier to reach than self-awareness. A monkey can be emotional, but not self-aware.
I'd like us to be able to master this AI tech before we add emotions to the mix. It can get ugly.

Letting emotions run during trading could be a factor to lose some assets
That is true. But emotions either run or don't. If they do, better not trade on the short term, and stick to long term investing.
True, even if our decisions are logical at their core, emotions are what truly drive us to take action and follow through.
Exactly. I see enough people interpret that because there is the saying that emotions are bad for trading, that we should suppress them. I don't think we can or that is good for us. What we need is to understand them and us, and know what we can do and what we can't do well. If we get overrun by emotions for intra-day or short term trading, maybe we shouldn't do that... Maybe we should only invest long term, where emotions only make their mark when we buy and when we sell, which may not be as important after a good while.
In the coming time, we will see many more changes happening inside robots and things like that, which people will like even more in the coming time.
Remains to be seen what changes we will like and what we won't. I'm not sure how many realize what a disruptive force robots and AI will be and how quickly.
I think it's hard to deal with emotions, but I think the best thing to do is just to come up with a plan and act on it. I don't think there is anything else besides that. I do think it might be rough to do so sometimes because of the FUD/FOMO, but its something we have to learn.
A plan is fine, very good actually. That's the rational part. But when it's time to push the button, the plan doesn't do it, you do. And you usually feel something when you do it. Emotions are not necessarily bad, they don't need to be suppressed. You need to understand them, and not be overrun by them.
