Too Much Capitalism?

Having just read a post by Tarazkp on rising and Worthing income inequality both at his home front and around the World, it is quite clear from the comments that this phenomenon isn't something that everyone is comfortable with. The Wealth disparity between the Rich and poor is indeed huge and only continues to get worse. Of course even if you're like me and would rather focus on myself, there are some stats that when put into context can be disheartening to be candid.

I've been an avid supporter of the Capitalist system of governance for a very long time, and I still am. However, hearing stats like a few people owing more than half the Wealth of an entire Nation, or even the World is quite ludicrous. I can only say I get it. I fully understand why socialism is becoming appealing to young people these days who are disillusioned by their prospects of becoming successful with the level of inequality we see around.

I am all in for a solution as much as anybody cause I believe in maximizing value and not necessarily money. Unfortunately at some point the ultra wealthy realise the power that their enormous wealth weilds and become unwilling to simply give it up. They government itself is heavily influenced by the actions and financing of a few ultra wealthy individuals so there's that. It means no-one is checking and calling for caution at that level which is a problem.

As with any situation where people feel their voices are being silenced, they look for outlets and alternatives to make their voices heard. This will continue to be a burning issue till a solution comes around. The ultra-rich simply have to be comfortable with voluntarily giving a significant portion of their wealth back for redistribution else nothing will change, and disaster looms.

Am still a capitalist BTW... until a proven 'better solution' comes along
