Revolut Debit Card Arrived Today

Today I received notification my new bank card had been delivered to my brothers address in the UK. This took 3 working days which I think is pretty quick and a decent service. I was expecting this to only arrive on the 7th being next week Tuesday.

The next step is to arrange couriers to collect the bank card which believe it or not will only cost R250 or $15. A close friend of mine who is involved in international logistics has arranged this and will have the bank card in my hand Monday/Tuesday next week.
This highlights how much profit is added on as this is the cost price and I cannot send this locally less than 500km for that price and this is international 20 x the distance. We have lost the reality of what true value looks like and prices reflecting this. Funny to think 10 years ago I would be paying R1000 ($60) for a bank card collection because I have paid and done this before. I would hate to know what this would cost today if I did not know someone and shows how much profit is being made driven by greed and ignorance.
My current UK bank account of 31 years will be closed this Monday so this timing is very close and works. I will not be able to use my debit cards after the Monday the 6th or use the services of the bank, but will be able to still transfer funds emptying the account to another account after this date. I am still a little stunned we were not offered an alternative option or a phone call offering assistance after being a customer for 31 years. They will never have me as a client ever again and I am happy to leave which tells you the mess the UK is in now.
I have thought long and hard about the options available for a bricks and mortar bank and if I am honest under the current climate I do not want it in Europe. I do foresee serious problems coming and believe the safest option and most stable place would be Dubai. Dubai's economy will be stable and I cannot say the same about Europe with the same sort of confidence. No one quite knows how things will escalate in Europe, but we kind of have a certainty they will escalate on the current path they are heading.
My mind is still on the crypto off ramp and that will never change knowing there is a tax free exit available with no questions asked. Crypto is going to be even more important when Digital ID's and CBDC's are introduced as it offers another option away from the financial system controls. We have to keep reminding ourselves of how early we are and how fortunate we are by already being in this space. Through what we know we already think and act differently because we understand what is possible and that is a big advantage.
