Apparently We Are Still Early

I came across this yearly comparison chart today which importantly dates back to 2011 so it gives a decent 15 year trend history. In 2025 BTC was the worst performer but more importantly the chart shows BTC has never had two red years in a row. Gold may be the star performer but over the last 15 years nothing comes close to what BTC has achieved and why Blackrock recently stated those invested in BTC are so early.

We have been saying the being early part for years already and I do think it was used to keep everyone involved and invested because you often wonder what the future holds especially at the bottom of a Bear market. How early does one have to be to be still called an early adopter if the term is still being used by investors getting involved in crypto many many years after many of us.

2026 many say will see the end or peak of our current cycle with the cycle know on track with the business liquidity cycle. I hope those people are correct as this would help take the guessing game out of the crypto cycle because we all need some guidance especially with time lines. The 4 year cycle was too convenient and now that cycle theory has been proved as wrong we need help.

You sometimes forget how old BTC is and 16 years does not seem that long a time frame. It has taken institutions 15 years to jump on board and there is still so many that are going to get involved and this is the early part still so where can the BTC price go to? This is just getting started with so much new money that needs to pour into the crypto eco system and not just for BTC so one would presume we are all in for a wild ride and we have not witnessed anything yet.

Obviously the BTC increases are dropping over time as BTC is 16 years old and started out at less than 1 cent. $123K doing a 48 X would see a BTC price at $ 5.904 million which is not going to be happening any time soon.

The good news is if BTC cannot do the 45 or 50 x moves it does not mean the altcoins cannot and there are plenty of opportunities lying around with the only problem being we have to find them. This is easier said than done and not like BTC being the first one with today more than 17 000 alt coins being tracked on CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap. The odds are definitely against you these days as many of these crypto projects will not be around within the next 5 or 10 years. Nearly 60% of all crypto projects launched since 2021 and in 2025 accounted for 86% of the failures. 2025 may have been a really tough year for crypto but it served a good purpose and thankfully removed the weak projects. A reported 11.6 million crypto projects failed in 2025 so the projects that are thriving and ticking over are doing something right so don't dish out the FUD if your crypto investments are still breathing.
