Crypto between friends

I was visiting some friends the other day, and somehow (I honestly don't know how) we started talking about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general.

Now, if you know me, you know that I like crypto.
I also like visa cards where you can deposit crypto to and spend them like any regular fiat money.
In fact, I have a few services that allow me to do this. Each with their own perks - but more on that another day.

POV of the many

Not everyone like crypto currency equally. This is no news.
I wasn't aware that so many people are so ignorant though.

People are afraid to be scammed, but they also don't want any advice as to how they can avoid being scammed.
A trusted CEX or compatible bank account for onboarding and a self custody wallet and you're all set.
But no! People can scam you in all kinds of ways.
I don't disagree, because they actually can. But when you have that way of thinking, there is little to no chance it will happen to you.

Shock of the week

One of them said

I would rather stick to the trusted old money

But are they really that trusted?
I mean, the inflation never stops, new money are always printed.

It is different with some coins and tokens in the crypto space.
Bitcoin ($BTC) has a fixed max supply of 21m and $LEO has a fixed max supply of 30m.
Bitcoin may have an even lower supply due to early buyers having thrown away their keys and can't access their wallets.
The supply of LEO is known to decrease due to burns, POL and whatnot.

This create a very special case with Bitcoin and Leo, as many other coins and tokens also have inflation, newly created coins.
Many seem to overlook this when they decide what crypto to invest in.
I'm getting sidetracked here...

To make that one shorter:
NO! Regular old money can not be trusted. Not in the long run.

# Conclusion

Would you be arguing or debating with your friends with the purpose of them getting into crypto, would you do it in an attempt to educate them or would you do it to give them the choice to ask you about it in case they wanted to get into crypto on their own?

Personally, I'm in the last category.
I couldn't care less if others want to take the orange pill and start looking at Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies - but I will help them if they ask and I will also give them some information that it is a possibility - without being scammed, that is 😎

I stopped arguing with these friends. When I notice that they know everything better I stop talking and let them do whatever they want.

Yeah, I see what you mean. But since they're friends I'll still tell them about the freedom they can experience, but I won't tell them they just have to, if that makes sense 😃
