The sewer pipe dilemma.

If you have ever had to, or are planning to buy pipes for the sewer system on your personal plot, then either you have already encountered, or will encounter the issue of price differences for absolutely identical pipes of the same diameter and length.

In essence, the price may differ for several reasons.

One of these reasons is that one pipe is made of polypropylene, and the other pipe is made of polyvinyl chloride.

As a rule, polypropylene is more expensive because it can withstand a wider range of temperatures and is more resistant to aggressive environments.

But even in the case of polyvinyl chloride, the price of pipes from different manufacturers can vary greatly, and this reason lies in the manufacturing method and equipment on which this pipe is made.

If it seems to you that the price of a pipe is greatly inflated, then there is a possibility that this pipe is made of cast polyvinyl chloride, according to the principle of casting an ingot.

And those pipes that are cheaper are made of foamed polyvinyl chloride, which means that there are many hollow pores in the pipe walls, the pipe becomes lighter, and therefore cheaper.

Moreover, a high-quality pipe made of foamed PVC is in no way inferior in strength to a pipe made of cast PVE, but there are some reservations, both those and those manufacturers are sometimes so carried away by reducing the cost of products that they forget to use only high-quality raw materials, and there are plenty of second-rate raw materials on the market, which are unstable in their characteristics.

Be vigilant, ask more questions to sellers, answer questions, this is their job! :)
